I was thinking about it. Considering but then I thought it just would make other units out right useless. The wizard tower already does what partially what you want and that wizard tower shoots rather quick.
Purely because it does splash damage and has a long range I think it is too OP even with the 2 tile blind spot.
if I was to go along with this the defense it would have to have a more of a weakness. Like the mortar, it must shoot slow and have issues targeting fast moving targets until they stop moving (like when they stop to attack) otherwise the shots should miss their target.
I was thinking more along the lines of a Flak Cannon of sorts than your weapon when thinking about a anti-air splash damage defense but the concept is what's important so don't mind my nit pick of what I think it should be.
