Maxed TH7 (well almost); Question for TH8 builds

I know its not polite to pat yourself on the back, but here I go.
I finished my last lvl7 wall last night, started my last Elixir Collector today, which maxes my village, beside the BK (not sure I'll upgrade him just to make him sleep longer), and I still have Lvl2 Hog Riders to upgrade.

I've gotta do a bit of farming to get my gold maxed for new builds, but elixir is just about there now — and TH8 will be here in about 4 days.

But really, not just patting myself on the back – I was curious what everyone used their builders for immediately upon hitting TH8?

My idea was to get the drill, upgrade my lab, build the new Wizard and Archer Tower and possibly upgrade my castle. I'm still not set, but this is almost like the week before Christmas, it's hard to wait.

Your on the right, track you could save a builder to upgrade walls.

I have 5 builders. When I reached th8, i used four of them to upgrade my mortar(1.6m gold), clan castle(1.8m gold), lab(1m elixir) and build a new WT(120k gold). I used the remaining one to build and upgrade the new walls as I raid for more resources.

I did the lab and started on new defense towers, and then mortars.

1st builder avail when th8 pops should go lab, cuz u said ur maxed out, and u should always be researching.

If you're really going to bother doing the Hog Riders just make sure they are finished before you hit TH8. You ideally want the lab empty so you can upgrade it straight away and then get Archers going.

By the way, I'd make sure to have lvl 4 wizards, lvl 2 minions before doing hog riders.

I've just moved up to TH8. My approach was lab, DE drill, DE storage (because my BK is already maxed at 5 and need more before lvl 6), archer tower and wizard tower. I figure i'm going to get all the new stuff upgraded to the same as my current maxed TH7 and then I will start upgrading wizard towers / mortars. Once they are done i'll sort the archer towers / cannons etc.

I never "keep a builder free" for walls. What's the point in the downtime? Just keep farming gold and upgrade walls whenever a builder is free. I'm guessing you're going for a farming layout with exposed TH right?

I have Lvl4 Wizards, I just finished Minions a couple days ago - I figured Id wait on the other DE upgrades until I have more coming in... i know the drill wont do it by itself but itll help.

My TH is in the open, yes, and I get tons of cheap shields, not ashamed. So I agree, I will be using all builders continuously, until I find myself losing too many resources. (I've done a great job at being unraidable, by not keeping excess resources on hand...)
