How many building a freeze spell can freeze?

Can it freeze 3 3x3 buildings in a row (total of 9x3 space) or maybe 3x3 of 3x3 buildings (total of 9x9 space)

I think the freeze spell has a radius of three, or maybe four, tiles, but it can freeze multiple buildings by just touching the edge of some of them. The most amount of buildings it can freeze is either five or nine, but I don't have a definite answer. Also it's unlikely to ever freeze that many because defences aren't usually set up in the right way.
