I guess the real life analogies we are trying to use are not doing this thread any favors. It boils down to this, I don;t think unclaimed obstacles are fair game. Gem boxes, trees, rocks etc... They are not spawned inside a bases perimeter so if I take my builder and am able to add to my gem count during a battle I should be able to. I don't think it should be easy but I do think it should be part of this beautiful and well thought out game.

Ai yai yai, this is hopeless. Yes, I steal resources. Gems are NOT resources no matter how many times you try to claim they are. Resources are needed to advance in the game. They are used to purchase buildings, troops, spells, etc. Gems do not buy these things. They buy the resources used to buy those things.

And stealing gifts is okay to you? I hope people in your house wake up earlier than you on Christmas. Otherwise you might steal all those unclaimed gifts under the tree.

How can you say I cant steal things...when you have probably today attacked another base and stolen gold and elixir...what is the difference? Stealing is stealing. You cant put a moral stance on what you can and cannot steal...this isn't some honour amongst thieves you know!

You say why would you buy gems when your free ones are taken from you? That doesn't make sense. You buy gems, you use gems. Job's a good'un as they say. The gems you buy are banked...they cant be taken. The gem boxes you receive...are banked and then they cant be taken. Don't get to them in time...tough luck!

I agree, this isn't taking money from people...gems are not currency until they are in your bank, which I think we all agree should never be able to be touched.

But they are money. The equivalent of, at least, they can be used exactly like those that you purchase for real money, their potential just isn't realized at the point when they're sitting in your base. The gems in the box and the gems in the bank are exactly the same thing, whether you paid for them or not

I am gonna try one more analogy here:

We are all in this Supercell Hotel where every door is unlocked and we all except the fact that our stuff is fair game. At breakfast they put out these delicious cheese danishes that everyone loves. Once I deposit my cheese danish in my stomach no one else can take it... but that dude in rm 217 is sleeping after his bender last night so I am doing to deposit his danish in my stomach...too bad for him. If he had simply just put it in his stomach I could not have gotten to it...

what we have here fellas is someone who thought he had a good idea.
came to the forum to present his idea
got shut down by a few people who are trying to explain how his idea is not good and would hurt the game overall.
no matter what argument is presented to this person in opposition of his idea, he will continue to vehemently defend it.
there is no point debating with people like this, they do not abide to reason.

some people just fail to realize that there are bad ideas, there are good ideas with bad repercussions, and there are good ideas.

this is a good idea that would have bad repercussions, thus making it a bad idea.

the ruled out list really needs to be updated.

Then that guy goes and whines to management that someone stole his Danish. He couldn't have eaten it yet because he was still full and hasn't had the chance.

Which brings up an entirely new discussion...do we really want a dozen threads an hour whining about how people's gems got stolen? Jeez, and I thought DE zapping was an over-complained about topic...

I'm not following. Where are these Danishes served? Is it some buffet where it's grab and go? In that case it's fair game because it's in a communal area. There is no individual designation assigned to each danish.

Or are you referring to them being placed in each persons room? If so, each danish is being personally assigned to each person. Just because my door is unlocked doesn't mean you can waltz in and take my danish. I could have been saving it for later or maybe I was going to give it to someone else. It's my danish and I decide what to do with it.
