Take it to the bank: hounds will be repeatedly nerfed

I just 3'd a 75% max TH9 (I'm a TH9) in 1:15 from the time I quit gapping out and actually dropped my troops. I did drop both heroes but at like 20 seconds left and they did nothing. Maybe they saved 5 or 10 seconds of cleanup. I had 10-20 minions/pups left at the end.

The biggest trouble I've had with 3 starring pretty much whatever TH9 with multi lavaloonion (i've settled on 3 against most TH9s, 2 against ones with weak air D but maybe like lego walls, 4 only against unlurable full max ones) is the hounds LIVING. If you run too many hounds it creates some risk for getting 3 stars because you don't get all the extra minions (i.e., the pups) and the hounds themselves have all the damage of a geriatric who can't stand up.

For you guys that haven't gotten it yet, the hound is used in large numbers to clear a path for balloons, then you use all rage on the balloons. The core of a really good TH9 lasts maybe 10-30 seconds against this. Then you sit in shocked amazement as you realize the TH is already down, you haven't dropped your heroes, and you forgot to deploy your clan troops. It happens VERY fast, you basically have to know where you want to drop everything before you start, because its pretty tough to keep up with it once under way while staring at all the shining lights. From the time I dropped the first rage spell until the core of the base was gone, th included, was about 24 seconds, no joke.

There is no way that this troop will not be nerfed, repeatedly, in the future. You have been warned. It will become the new hog rider.

edit that, just watched the replay.

at 1:15 left I dropped my main attack force
at 0:58 I dropped my first rage
the town hall went down to splash damage at 0:43

15 seconds from the first rage to the total loss of the core of the base.

    It will be nerfed.

Its a term I learned here that people use to describe a time when supercell makes something worse.

like when they made giant bombs do 50% more damage to hog riders that "nerfed" hog riders.

    No idea of the origin.

Using lava hounds vs th 9 isn't reallly worth it. U better spare them for vs th 10.

I dont know know why they would touch hogs at this point. If you three star with them it takes work. It takes strategy and skill. You have to know game mechanics and there are many steps. Few ppl can do it over and over successfully. No reason to three them, you could never three my base with hogs unless u were uber amazing.

how about keep this a secret from SC and a few thousand player out there? We know that SC won't satisfied until we all use those Valkyries...

AFAIK, Lavas aren't as popular as Hogs, we might be able to keep quiet about it and no one would know how deadly they are

Oh, btw they aren't exactly THAT overpowered.. as in, you don't automaticly 3 star bases with them just by deploying all your troops in a single spot like with hogs..

Nerf is a change in a game that makes something less effective, refers to the foam toys that don't hurt when you get hit by them. The opposite of nerf is buff.

First became popular in Ultima Online. Don't know what that is? Me neither, the 90s were my Duke Nukem and Quake days.
