Before they were upgradable we use to have to re-buy them from the store, not just re-arm them.

when there was only 10 levels of archer towers
when infernos were useless in crystal (no disco parties)
when gold was easier to get than elix
when a th7 could get 2 mil/ 2 mil/ 7500 from a th 10
when sub 200 only had th 2s and 3s in MM
when valks were useless
when there were only 6 levels of tesla
when there was only 4 levels of minion
when a th7 could 3 star an average th 10 with 20 lvl 2 hogs
when DE was harder to come by then gems
when you could only get 3 gems from obstacles
when barch was tthhhhhppp!!

and I can't think of anymore atm.

in the earlies whatever troops you had already spawned and waiting in your camps would have been lost when someone attacks you and destroys your army camps if you went offline...lol that sucked big time

that's nothing I remember playing stickball with my friends in the 30's, video games having not been invented yet. we used to play all day in the middle of the street, and at night had to lick the road clean with our tongues. But you try telling that to the young people here, and they'd never believe you
