Hahaha trust me my OCD really wants to make those all skull walls, but its actually very helpful to have easy gold dump, so I may keep them for a little longer at pink/purple before making them all skulls. I already have 16 Lego walls though!

I'm currently working toward finishing my main account's TH8 max, and this post has me really baffled.

How in the bloody blue blazes did you nearly max out your skull walls in ONE WEEK? I was boost Barching almost every night for over a month and only managed to get about 80% skull walls finished. I stopped boosting because I realized that I was running out of resource dumps, so I've been raiding much more slowly over the last several weeks. And I'll be raiding very little on my main until I finish all my constructions, because I have next to nothing to spend resources on until I hit TH9.

I would really appreciate it if you laid out how you pulled off your impressive gold grabbing. Things like trophy range, target selection criteria, build priorities, research choices, etc. I ask because my second account is also TH8, but has far less defensive upgrades, and I'd love to learn the most efficient way to build him up before I move him on to TH9. I use him as a source of troop donations for myself, so I do plan to rush him to TH9 soon. I maxed his TH7 research (sans Dragon), and he's already got Barbs, Archers, Balloons, and Wizards maxed for TH8. I'm working on Hogs right now (for war).

One thing to remember I had 5 days of upgrading walls where elixir was still available to upgrade via elixir and gold. This helped speed up my process for sure! I always farmed in Gold 1-2 leagues. I felt it was the best. I boosted barrack 8 times while I was getting my walls up. At day 7 I hit the upgrade button with the goal of finishing my walls right before the upgrade finished. All the extra elixir went to upgrade Dark barracks, Gold mines ( I forgot to do) and always researching farming troops). Thanks for stopping by keep checking back to see my progress! One thing to note at the beginning upgrading my drills and DE storages was also I high priority.

This makes me baffled to. I'm at th8 and was maxed th7 (buildings, troops) and a very super mega active farmer even with no barrack boosting, and mostly logged off when my storages almost full. There were times when I cannot raid because of storages full but no free builder until 1-2 days, issues which makes me disappointed. that's why even before two weeks at th8, I already did 30 skulls and as of this post, storages full and got builder available in 5 hours. My barbarian level 5, archer just level 5 yesterday and currently upgrading my giant to level 5 and my barbarian king level 8 (DE available to upgrade him to level 9).

My question is, should I follow OP steps and rush to TH9? I'm in a clan war only once a week, I need your opinions too guys.

P/S: I can't farm right now, my tanks full except DE storage.

I was a maxed TH8 before moving to th9, and it was a mistake maxing at th8. Th9 has so much more possibilities. Walls especially, and nice dumps for gold and lix everywhere. The troops are worth it too. Rush to th9, and stay there. Th9 is awesome.

I would max out your farming Troops, and hit the upgrade button, while the TH is upgrading finish up your walls, and possibly your dark barracks if possible. You will definitely be easy stars in clan war, but you also should be able to get back 3 stars just as well (providing your offense is upgraded)

You nailed it exactly as to why I moved up. Much more gold/elixir dumps at TH9. In addition with my low level defenses I still get attacked less from TH9's then when I did as a TH8 with full storages.

Nice base/layout and yeah i maxed th8, it lead me to a choke point which i now realise it delayed me going to th9 much much sooner

Exactly Shadow! That bottle neck/choke point is what I didnt' like about being at TH8, Full storages with nothing dump the extra gold and elixir into. Now that I am at TH 9 I can keep them almost empty if I want to

Although I've never SERIOUSLY considered rushing.....these threads have gotten me to rethink my strategy.

I watched that whole video and it does make sense to a point.

I'll meet you in the middle and agree to upgrade TH when I have my skull walls finished (by the end of the upgrade) or I start bottlenecking with elixir.

This just threw my brand new Excel spreadsheet for maxing my TH 8 totally out of sorts

I'm only 2 days into my TH 8 so we'll see how it goes.
