For whatever reason, the clan war matching system decided to match me against a TH9 opponent although I'm TH8. I was hoping I could get some help on how to get at least 2 stars from this opponent.
I'm TH8 with:
Lvl 5 Barbarians
Lvl 5 Archers
Lvl 5 Giants
Lvl 5 Wallbombers
Lvl 5 Wizards
Lvl 5 Balloons
Lvl 4 Hog Riders
Lvl 3 Dragons
Lvl 2 Healers
Lvl 1 PEKKA
Lvl 5 Rage Spells

Hi, I've made my own strategy and it works really well in war. I call it D.ES.T.R.O.Y.Basically I use 1 lightning spell, 1 rage and a heal or 2 heal ur wish. 17 Giants, 5 wallbreakers, 2 healers, 1 Pekka or 25 arch, then rest wizards. I've won 23/25 raids with this strategy. Request a Pekka in ur cc. Deployment- Using a giant or 2, lure cc troops out, and destroy them with lightning spell. Then deploy all the Giants two healers and wiz. Next deploy your pekka(if u did not choose arch). If you chose arch place them near outer building for percentage. Deploy ur cc pekka the way Giants went. Use spells accordingly. For your base I would hit it at the builder huts and make way in and let the wiz take the town hall.Hope you try this.Originally Posted by TheGoonDockSaint

He is a very fresh TH9, no Xbow and defense TH8 maxed, that's all.
Don't focuse on the Town Hall.
I forgot to add, I also have level 1 golems.
Should I use 5 lvl 4 hog riders on two corner ADs (since it looks like the hog rider will go right for them) then 3 lightning spells on the 3rd AD, then dragons on the final AD?
So 10 hogs total (maybe 15 for safety sake)

normally i would say hogs but theres too many spots for giant bombs or even double giant bombs so i would go with a heavy gowipe, but if u feel uncomfortable with lvl 1 golems go with giants as a substitute. hope i helped and its not too late
I old also suggest gowipe with 2 golems, 2 PEKKAS, 8 wall breakers and the rest wizards. I take out many th9 with this army comp, but might be because I have lvl 3 pekkas.

Gowipe!! I just 2 starred a lvl 109 & I'm only lvl 80!! Imma fresh th 9, basically still an 8! 3 pekkas 6 wb,2golems, & the rest wiz!! Watch videos & learn how to do it, trust me it works!
Also my golems & pekka are lvl 1, wizzies lvl 5, rage lvl 4, heal lvl 5, so u should b fine
Easy mass drags. 1 heal, 2 rage. I was fighting TH10s when I was TH8. I liked to bring 20 archers to clear the sides, but you could put one dragon on each side instead. Bring some maxed out loons in your castle and rage them up. Loons down middle, spread drags, one rage on either side when they are into the base, then a heal. The clan castle should draw them into the base if you do it correctly.
I recommend Gowipe for an easy 2 star of this base.
