    Why No Private Messaging?

I assume this has already been ruled out, so I'm not strongly pressing for SC to create a private message option.
But I'm just wondering what's the reason for not allowing private messages?
It would slow down/clog the system too much?
Increase the need for Comment Moderation too much?
    That's no moon...

That, and this isn't exactly a messenger. If you trust a person enough to privately message with them, add them elsewhere and talk there.

If you want to message in private get a 3rd party app like kik or hipchat etc.

If private messaging was allowed, than players would be spammed with unnecessary mail.

Yesterday was history, tomorrow is mystery, today is a gift, and that's why we call it the present.

From what I can figure, the general limitation of communication is two part. 1) It blocks unwanted personal conflict. This game is based around wrecking what other people have built up, and will cause people to get emotional. 2) Just plan easier to maintain system-wise to have to worry about a complex messaging system.

Mostly it is for the first reason. Much of the limitations in CoC I've noticed seem to be intended features to preserve a good game experience.

Yes all of that makes sense.
The last thing we all need is more spam.
But if you do want to converse privately you would be forced to reveal your private contact info in a very public place.

Or are you saying those 2 3rd party PM systems are basically used to anonymously chat with people? so revealing your screen name on 1 of those systems wouldn't be a problem?
    That's no moon...
