Out of 6804 so far. And its a friend of his from his clan he had create an account to say that. He is so lame about this he has to resort to those kinds of tricks.

But also even though an overwhelming majority (about 200) has pointed out its bad and even asked the OP to stop bothering everyone with it there are some guys (under 10) here that are either too stupid to grasp why this would be unfair to many folks other than themselves, or they are just such nasty individuals that they don't care.

Either way it wont happen because it truly cant. too bad the OP and his couple of buddies can't see their way to do the right thing and walk away. We will probably have to just see it appear, and it will fall off because it will still be stupid, and it will appear, and it will fall off....

Clearing out all the clans with no active members for over 6 months would be such a huge boost for good clans. Any clan that starts to do well winds up with so many 1 member dormant copies that it becomes difficult to find on search and sometimes impossible to find feeder/sister clans. SC would be well served to dedicate a little time to this occasional effort.

Read the thread before posting on it please. There is an easy way around your issue already in place today. it got mentioned several times so if you read at all you would hit it. The only reason this argument went on for so long was because the OP really just wanted to eliminate a competing clan that had the same name as the one he was creating so he wasn't interested in solutions.

This problem is solved by being able to do the advanced search for a clan you'd like to join.


All the single member clans are their own problem and do no harm to anyone else. When searching for clans, never search for a clan with under 5 or 10 members.

Some of these old threads are good, turning up in google searches, and can be worth replying to to complete a record.

We should be able to reply to an old small misconception without bringing it to the top.

I completely agree with the OP. Lets say i made a clan with a very good name and over time all members including me as leader become inactive(the active ones would obviously leave), the INACTIVE clan lives on. Though this doesnt block the "good name" from being duplicated, it does gets added in the search results which is not good. Over time, as CoC lives on...most or almost all clans would have many duplicates which im pretty sure no leader would like. It will make it harder to make unique clan names.

So yeah i agree that inactive clans should be dismantled, lets say after a period of a couple of months of inactivity.

To find them, go into advanced search and select 'Inactive Clans' to 'Show'. Also the advanced search setting is also very hard to use. I swear that every time you want to search for something, you have to retype in everything in the advanced. You should be able to set your own default settings so you don't have to keep changing it.

Don't take them out!! Just hide them from searches unless changed in advanced settings. This isn't a very difficult fix at all. Just make it easier to find the clan you want, but also you can still find the inactive clans through the advanced settings, I think that adding this would fix all of your problems and make everyone happy.

This is actually ok. It gives the effect desired to hide those unless a person wants to see them. And then the clans are not being taken away from anyone.

There is some number of 'inactive' clans and players that are actually just dormant. People with seasonal jobs and a lot of military sometimes have to go away for months at a time. Some create a clan just to lie dormant in. others have a clan that has war wins (and now there will be xp points) and they want to hold onto that and have it when they get back. There is no way to sort those out and it would be wrong to take them away.

So filtering I do think is a viable solution. The OP will not want it and say 'I just want them gone'. But we have to keep in mind what we are supporting with him. He got all excited about this clan name he had thought up and he created it only to find there was another and he got mad. That other clan did have one person in it and when they went inactive for a couple weeks he started petitioning they should be deleted for that. He evolved that into one season of inactivity and really [pushed. he was opposed to any filters because his real deal was he wanted that clan gone. The player in that clan has since gone active again and has built the clan up, they are warring today. They now actually serve as an example of why we should not jump to the conclusions the OP wanted us to. So we have to be careful what we are getting behind.

As far as waking up old threads - I was bummed to see this one back too. But the person that bumped it was doing the right thing. instead of starting a new thread with his issue he did a search, found this one, and posted on it. We don't get a lot of that so we should be thrilled with him. Its not his fault that the original OP had beaten this horse so ridiculously overly hard a few weeks ago.
