Dragons are best part of game. I have level 2 dragons and 3 star any max th7/8 base. But they cost a lot. 10x 30000 is 300 000 elixir. So my war profit is not so big even if defeat max th8.
So I start to attack townhall 9/10 and sometime 3 star even th9 (not max / stupid base) to get nice profit.
Btw as I am max th7 and play mostly wars I dont know any other way to 2-3 star maxxed th8.
And yes if we serious won war, second attack always on some bad th9/10 base. To earn somethinglike 1500 de in 2 attacks

I myself think dragons are stupid, a max level gowiwi is much more effective on all th levels.

Dragons rule can wars TH 6-8.
Things change after that...drastically.
Mass Dragon attacks start to become obsolete. Not fully obsolete, but way less effective. A dragon attack has not 2 starred my war base in 6-8 months.

Im a TH 7 and I got wrecked today in the clan war with dragons. lol, but I dont really have a problem with them as long as its a th 7 vs. th 7

Drags need a new level while being nerfed also at th 8 I'd say nerf lvl3 drag give lvl4 to th9's with a small nerf to fit and th10 get a new lvl5 drag to help them out
Centralize your AD and they won't be able to get 3 stars with mass drags (at least up to level 3). Period.

This. If you're getting owned by mass dragons at TH8, you're probably doing something wrong. Place those air defenses correctly and dragons will fly all around them, getting picked off as they go. Most mass dragon attacks on my lvl 6 air def base are 1-2 stars, either because the drags get taken out by the air defense or they run out of time. Get a good base design and stop complaining. Dragons don't need to be nerfed, your defense needs to get better. That's not meant as an insult, just comes from my experience.
People that use dragons aren't noobs. That's pretty insulting. Using dragons isn't any different than using any other strategy. I think a lot of people here forget how easy it is to totally botch a dragon attack. I see it all the time, and that's with lvl 2 and 3 dragon attacks. Attacking with mass dragons takes skill. You have to plan, bring the right spells, and drop in the right places at the right time. Comparing people effectively and consistently using dragon attacks to noobs, or calling them uninspired, is condescending. If you prefer gowipe, right on, enjoy it and kick butt. No need to insult people that might enjoy another strategy.
I've seriously never been 3 starred by dragons since reaching townhall 8. Im currently townhall 9. But yea if you put all 3 air defenses in center youre gonna get wrecked, spread them out. You want a lot of buildings between air defenses (preferably gold and elixir storages because it takes dragons a second to take those down) and make sure you put traps by your air defenses for a little extra oomph. Its not that hard
