Town hall sniping not as common as people say

To many observers in Crystal, as hard as it is to find a base to Snipe, it may seem as thought it's not common.

The opposite is true. The reason you hardly see them is because the second they are available, it's usually the first person to load the base will snipe it. The exposed townhalls you've seen and sniped, you were probably the first one to see it as the owner went offline.

So many people snipe through Crystal, I love it. Especially with the higher loot bonus, it's makes economical sense.

That is more along the lines of what I would expect, it just hasn't been happening to me lately. My base is designed well enough that I have not been losing too many resources, but I still would prefer they just snipe and leave. Granted, 6 of the last 12 attacks were revenge so clearly there are a lot of people stalking me on their revenge lists in order to get their attack in before some random sniper finds me.

I'm pretty sure it's my lv9 walls keeping me safe, but looking at my combat log there has been only 2 full attacks in the past 12 days, every other has been a TH snipe.

What I'm more surprised about is, that only 2 of 31 TH snipes has been a DE zapper.

So that's 33 attacks, 2 full attacks and 31 snipes, 2 of which DE zapped (crystal league btw)

Don't come up to masters 2 lol. They snipe my th then crush the rest of me lol. All these maxed th10s eat my th9 tail up!

I'm farming at Masters 2 and 8 out of 10 of my defenses are snipes

my defense log is full of Revenge snipes ♥♥♥♥. and thats with FULL collectors, gold, elix, de, drills sometimes too. seriously, over half my log is revenges in Masters 3. I'm a new TH10 but maxed TH9 defenses and I like to think I'm pretty good at base design (or should I say stealing and modding the ♥♥♥♥ out of it for months?). 9 out of 10 revenges on me are snipes. When I do get attacked, its Gowipe/gowiwi'd and they're lucky to get 1/4 of my loot

I'm currently upgrading my last 6 lvl 10 walls and have fully maxed my TH9, Advice to you is always keep 5th builder for walls from day 1!! I did that and still managed to max out my defenses 3 months before my walls, you need to remember it takes 1 billion in resources to max out walls alone the rest takes only 100 million or so. Plus by having 5th builder always free you can dump all resources into walls before you log off believe me 150k-200k lost everyday will add up in the upcoming months. Once you've drained resources before you log off I guarantee you will never be fully attacked again.

As a TH8 I notice that whenever I have 800+ DE up for grabs, I will get attacked by a th9 before I get sniped most of the time.

At TH9/TH10 i think its different.

I have a TH9 account that Im currently farming with. I stay around 1850 to 1950 trophies. I'm usually sniped just minutes after my shield goes down, 49 out of 50 times. I have maxed out defenses and lvl 8 or above walls with plenty of loot to be had, but very hard to get at, with a nicely exposed town hall.

On the other hand, I have a second account, a TH8 base where I try to stay between 1200 and 1800 trophies, with about 1 lvl away from maxed out walls and defenses currently. I also usually have an abundance of loot, that I consider to be well protected. Subsequently I will go hours with no shield before I'm attacked within the silver and gold leagues, 80% of the time it's a full-on raid. Even though my TH is clearly exposed, away from the protection of any defenses, it doesn't seem to attract snipers.

My conclusion right now is, the appearance of the TH9 base makes it more appealing to snipe, and with the frequency of strong armies able to tap my loot on a base that isn't as leveled up in regards to my TH8 being raided more frequently, compared to my TH9 base that is hard for even a maxed out army to get through. Also I've seen extremely high level TH9 and 10 farming bases in silver, gold and low crystal leagues looking for a big score, of which any level 8 TH with a ton of loot is a prime target, I know this because that's my strategy all day with my TH9 account. All things considered, it's just a theory, but it's all I can muster.
