325 war stars as a th8 using hogs/drags. Maxed out my th8 and upgraded. I even have lvl 5 hogs now. But a month into th9 im 1 starring my counterpart in wars.

I'm about 2 months into Th9 and it started the same for me. Th8 attack strategies that I used we're Hogs or Drags and neither of those work as they did unless a base has a poor setup. The attack strategies are different and a big part of it is due to the Xbows and Queen. For a Hog attack you have to build a separate squad to take her out before releasing your Hogs. Can't just run through and deal with the King at the end anymore. Queen hides behind walls sniping out tons of Hogriders because they won't target her if she's further than any other structure. Basically Golems are for tanking Xbows. A lot in my clan are new/mid Th9's and that we're all getting our Golems leveled up and Witches to 2, Gowiwi has been great for us.

Thats what im working on as well. But its a slow painful process.
I think a GoWiPe attack with lvl 5 wiz and lvl3 pekka should easily get you 3 stars on a similar base as yours(new th9)
everyone faced the same issue. Need to get your Wiz, Golem, Witch up ASAP.
Many bases can still be hogged, jus need to find a way to get the AQ out..
