But Supercell doesn't think so. With almost 200 level 7 walls to upgrade, I only need 100 million gold now to do it. Do you think I need a 100 million elixir to finish the respective upgrades? Not even close. With a couple of troop upgrades, a single barracks, and a new DE drill to upgrade, I will find myself ignoring elixir as having too much puts a target on my back from TH9s.
This is ridiculously unbalanced when it comes to resource consumption.

Because them TH8's with nowhere to drop elixir are very generous

You're also ignoring the fact that every single time you raid, you're spending elixir on troops. Multiply the cost of your army times the amount of raids you'll have to do to get that 100 million gold.
Then add the cost of your remaining elixir upgrades.
True, you'll also gain elixir when raiding, but welcome to the way Clash of Clans was played for the past two years before the elixir for walls update

Yeah it seems like I might have to upgrade to TH9 before all walls are maxed.
This is getting a bit tiresome. Before the last update walls could not be upgraded with elixir at any level. Why is it all of a sudden such a huge issue that they dialed it back to only 8+ walls that can?
Worst case scenario, you upgrade all elixir upgrades and then go to TH9 without grinding your skulls. Also not THAT big of a deal. Loot at TH9 is fine.
Agree completely. I did all lvl 8 walls at th8 before the elixir nonsense, then the 25 new ones right when I got to th9. Couple guys in my clan did them as th9s because they didnt want to sit on max elixir at th8 before the elixir dump. So have many, many, many others. It isn't that difficult in the spectrum of the game.
Plus, this can be considered a good thing for all these new th8s and 7s... it teaches how to farm effectively for when your upgrades start costing 5-8 mil, and you have to fill your storages for every upgrade.
And man the f*ck up.
You were lucky to be part of the all elixir walldumping extravaganza...
