You do realize people can build walls without the use of gems, right? For someone who calls himself a "boss" at farming DE, you'd think it isn't that difficult to get walls. I haven't used a single gem for walls. I have level 8 walls. The elixir change certainly helped that, but I decided long ago that walls were a priority for me, so all the upgrade did was move along the process a little quicker. I got along fine upgrading all my walls through level 7 without the use of elixir. And guess who got a lot of my excess elixir then? You guessed it, TH8s. And yes, at TH8 there are way more gold upgrades. But all you can think about is yourself and where you're at NOW. You won't have this problem when you move beyond TH8. There are more elixir upgrades. They are very expensive. You will have access to more diverse armies that cost more elixir.
Given how you are behaving now, I can only imagine the fits you will throw if you ever make it to TH10 where it's incredibly difficult.
And oh yeah, those gemmers keep the game FREE or near-free for a lot of us, you twerp.

Rated 1 star for removing the ability to use elixir to upgrade lower level walls. That is not how you balance economy. I don't raid bases for elixir. I mainly used to raid them for gold and DE. Elixir is a waste after your troops are upgraded as you idiots have no other use of elixir. Everything else needs gold. I am TH8, go figure!
So if you wanted to balance economy you should have increased the capability of using elixir for other upgrades by balancing out gold and elixir usage. That way people would have upgrades balanced and done and after that resources would be available for loot.

I'm just getting flamed because I have good ideas. But whatever man. This game is a game to pass time. It's not a game of skill. And yes I can farm 20k+ DE at TH8 in a few hour raid session. So keep flaming and treat me like I'm bad. Yeah I'm bad because I want to be able to have the flexibility to use elixir on my 500k walls. Sorry you elite players think you are so good because you've been playing longer. And sorry you have to drop down to 1350 trophies to farm on the little guys.
May have preferred they do away with it entirely, but will give it a few weeks. The major issue I have is they gave this gift a while back to mostly all regular players, and then took it away from TH8 and below. So TH8 farmers will accrue lots of Elixir, have nothing to spend it on, and just be better raid targets for TH9 and above who do have something to spend it on. I can see why the "economy" for them did not get "fixed", it got worse. I'm in one of those positions... but am trying to understand the move here and give it a fair shot.
Essentially they've made it less rewarding to max out a TH8 vs upgrade to TH9. So those maxing out TH8s will instead just go to TH9, deal with the loss in raid % for TH8 and below in order to use elixir for walls again. The other aspect is the TH8 and below will be generating even more elixir with 6 collectors at another 500/hour, and a higher capacity. It's a good thing they don't allow downgrading because I'm sure we'd see a massive amount of TH8 and below collector downgrades as a result of this.
I'm not sure this entirely fixes the issue as we'll just start seeing more TH9s that are again dumping elixir into walls, but at least those will be 1M at a time instead of 200K, so on average the loot should be higher at least for elixir.
Anyway tried to research the topic a bit before passing judgement, but I do understand why a lot of players feel a bit of "steal from the poor to feed the rich" on this update. Upgrading to TH9 seems like a must now instead of maxing out anything less.
Never said it was a game of skill. It's a game of patience and determination. Skill is highly overrated. Some are better than others, but often the determining factor in playing well is simply experience.
And I'm hardly elite. I'm a freshly minted TH9 who hasn't even used an advanced attack like GoWiPe or GoWiWi yet. I've only been playing since June, so I haven't been playing a long time.
No one said you're bad. Just a cry baby. I find it extremely hard to believe you can farm 20k DE in just a few hours. You're a liar. If you could farm that much DE, then farming gold for walls would be a piece of cake. Given your complaints, it's pretty obvious you're lying.
And if not, how about you share your clan name and IGN? I doubt you will... because you know, you're lying.
A couple people have said it the way it is. The big guns like this update because it puts more elixir out there so when they raid people who are two levels lower than they are, it's still profitable. SC made the change because it helps their bottom line. It'll inevitably increase gem purchases and usage. It's what all these games with in app purchases are about. How can we get more money out of the customers. It's business.
I'm going to start my BK6 tomorrow and upload a YouTube video to show you exactly how it's done. And crybaby? Yeah maybe, I'm just here trying to warn the community exactly what this move is going to do the game. And anyone with half a brain will see it happen in the coming weeks. Then you all can come back and apologize and tell me I'm right. So calling all TH9's drop trophies and elixir farm the overloaded TH8's. It's the new metagame.
