Because it was a mistake by SuperCell in the first place to allow that to happen.
They have fixed the mistake.
Seriously 500k gold for a wall is nothing. Back at TH8 if I tried I could do 10 skull walls a day, it's not hard at all.
When you get to TH9 and start needing to make walls worth $3 million or $4 million each you will understand why SuperCell did this.
Try making walls worth that much when no-one has anything in their elixir storages worth raiding.

Anyways, Glad of the update so far, just a couple complaints and a lotta praises. The ridiculous elixir-wall controversy aside, I'm not a fan of the new archer towers. Low health troops are now so much more vulnerable. However, I love the new troop level indicators (max troops with fiery gold emblems are the best!), producer levels, and of course, saved base layouts. Level seven giants make sense, especially now that they're the third troop you unlock, but I see it as just another way for TH10's to beat up TH9's.![]()

I love the new base editor! I was wondering what would happen with new obstacles getting in the way of other layouts, and I now have my answer... Anything that is blocked, gets placed into inventory. That's perfect!
I am upgrading my collectors now, and as soon as my lab is ready (in about four days), I will start level 7 giants.

Why is wall upgrade with elixir has been shift to level 8 wall? in the pre update, using elixir for wall upgrade in level 6 is very good. Since almost all the upgrades are donw by gold, there is almost no use of elixir as research timing is too long, and if you attack regularly for 2 hours, you have more than enough elixir... could you please downgrade the wall level to 6 again which can be upgrade using elixir or gold option?
Christmas tree - dont care...if i get one i will clear it as my OCD dictates this must happen
Live replay - cool but not particularly useful
Level 12 Collectors - awesome, much needed
Arrow shooters - awesome...death to BARCH & all other sissy armies in Champ league
Inferno Tower - would rather you release Level 4 to help separate men from boys in Champ
Level 7 Giants - got them started...will use to help farm DE for last 10 BK upgrades
"Hero" Ability icons - nice...theyre so weak we need help babysitting them before they die..."Heroes" do not exist in this game since JULY 2014 NERF!!!
Layout editor - dont care...HATE rearranging my base but will eventually get some use out of this i suppose

Summary: You guys have become masters of hyping the mundane to avoid developing & releasing new content...cant say I blame you for milking this cash cow for all its worth.

Updates are always great, but the live feed if you log on...who cares...obviously that was a program not hard to add after war live feeds....there is many other things that are needed. but i guess to hard to do atm.
