I disagree the idea of seeing TH7/8 just as preys for TH9/10. Guys grow some balls and attack in your own league!
^This is the most effective way of farming. We take on our own levels in wars and when trophy pushing.

That was sarcasm, of course it's easier to steal some bread from a baby than from a martial artist. Is it right to do so, though? Well it's a game...

I think it should be gold walls every level, I don't even understand why they gave the opportunity to do it in elixir at some point. (people complained it took too long to upgrade?)
^Wait until your walls are costing 3 and 4 million each and then see if you've changed your mind.

I can't tell you about that as I still haven't reached that level, but I guess the higher your TH level is, the more gold and elixir you should make/steal/can protect. Half a million for a skull wall is already difficult for me, but well that's part of the game, I planed with that so I deal with it too.
At some point one has to make a choice between taking some time to max the walls or upgrade to the next TH. But it's the same with all the defenses, with the troop levels at the lab, baracks, etc... If everybody was able to have the best defenses+troups+walls+villages then where would be the fun? If the walls are really too expensive at higher levels so that nobody can buy them, then maybe it would be better to simply lower the costs. Or if there are not enough things to do with the elixir, then let them in elixir at higher levels (which would mean SC had a good idea ).

tl;dr! I don't think you have to be overflowed with elixir even if you can't use it for the walls, at least for TH8 : simply smart farming and tenacity.

I really don't see how people are struggling getting loot.
I'm not TH10 yet, so I wont be arguing that.

I'm TH9 and I max my storages every other day (playing on and off),
or in a day (raiding as soon as troops are done cooking)

I had too much excess elixir at TH8 so I rushed to TH9 to dump my elixir into walls lol,
better then feeding free elixir to other TH9 players >

I'm sitting on 129 lvl9(lego) walls atm and I'm still maxing my TH8 defenses lol
(Archer towers 9-10 and Teslas 3-6 left)

Not trying to brag, just curious how people are struggling with finding loot.

1.) Loot at th9 is great if you learn to raid storages. If the only thing you can is spamming barch against inactive bases then it will depend on the current loot situation and sometimes you will have real problems.

2.) I think you simply nexted way too much to have so much elixir and so few gold or you have put the gold into walls that you needed for defense.

I have more then enough gold and elixir haha never said I didn't have enough gold :P I can probably keep up with 10 builders if it was possible.

The Nexting/Repairs gets nullified with troop cost, so that's not a problem either.

Elixir is a feature which has in abundance both on the farm and about the looting, nothing was more righteous than usalos to walls !!! : '(
