Get to 1800 for gold one then drop to 1750-1800 and barch.

I finished my level 8 walls rather quickly. I would recommend boosting your barracks twice/three times a day if you can. I maxed level 8 walls in a week. I know, I'm a loser haha, but I love this game and have the freedom at work to be able to do so. But to answer your question, I know it's low, but I had a lot of luck between 1300-1600. Best of luck!
