If you don't rush you don't need to attack black walls when you have level 2/3 troops. TH4-7 has plenty of loot. You probably didn't see it cause you rushed. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's impossible to rush to TH8 and do well. However, if you had taken your time through each TH you would definitely be further along then you are on... with less effort. Your real saving grace is the fact that you gemmed 5 builders. Rushing is not advisable but for avg players with 2-3 builders it's the worst possible move to make.

I maxed out th7 and it was definitely worth it. Why would you rush to th 8? Th 7 is the best farming in the game...
-WHy did you blur out your trophy count?
-Why did you do such a bad job of it?
-Why are you at such a low trophy count?
I also upgraded straightaway to th8. I remember I still had lv3 mortars and lv5 archer towers and cannons back then. And black walls. It wasn't much of a big deal though, I had fairly good troops so could raid well.
At the same time I unlocked tons of new cool stuff which I was happy about
Maxxed almost everything? I guess you mean defenses? I still wouldn't call that almost maxxed when you have 22+ days on all your teslas and over 30 days left on air def. Of course you don't even consider mines, collectors and barracks. Not good to leave all that stuff to upgrade at TH9.
Anyway, even if that stuff doesn't count and you have 5 builders you won't be starting TH9 for 23 days minimum. So more than a month away from TH9. Hardly close to maxed. I rushed TH8 and would recommend that others don't. Not worth it. You can farm great loot @ TH7 with lvl 4 troops and put yourself in better position to TOTALLY max TH8 including mines, collectors, barracks and walls.

Did read thread and I'm pointing out that you have 6 defenses that need upgrading still.
You won't be maxed defensively for 30 days unless you gem time.
So I think you miscalculated something.
I also disagree with the point of this thread from my own rushed TH8 experience.

The point isn't that you can't raid effectively at TH8, but that TH7 is better. While you have stronger troops at TH8, TH7 do just fine with level 4 troops as they only have TH6 defenses to worry about - and TH6 bases are very, very easy to break through.
It's not so much about TH7 finding bigger raids than TH8, but that they have access to a lot of smaller, but very easy raids. In the span of time that it takes you to take down one 200k/200k base and retrain your troops, a TH7 would've taken down 3-4 100k/100k bases.
