Probably but not as much retort as there was when elixir to wall was first released and the aftermath

I guess you are one of those cried when supercell let people upgrade with elixir. Probably you are high level and you feel it's unfair for all your time or loot spent and you couldn't do it.

Then supercell should just go back to no elixir makes it fair for everyone. Why should only maxed players get to update walls 1m and above with elixir.

And go put your storages outside and collectors too even if you don't quit.

And yeah I don't really care for myself about this in no way does it affect me but I do support this because they gave an update. And now they wanna take it back. Is not like they rushed on their decision to used elixir for walls.

So if supercell wants to "make loot better" they should
Go back and No elixir for walls
    Or leave it as is
Or level 8 walls with elixir
Or unlock using elixir for level 8 walls in th9.

I've also found I get raided much less when one of my resources is really low - if I'm saving gold, I spend all of my elixir on cheap stuff like walls; if I'm saving elixir, I spend gold on cheap stuff. If both resource levels are high, that's a sure-fire way to get pillaged.

I went to TH9 several weeks ago (after maxing TH8 except walls) and I've been concentrating on the elixir-based upgrades first (camps, DE drills, lab research) which are all expensive. All of the new gold-based defenses and trap upgrades have been cheap, so I've been able to keep my gold storage low with those upgrades when my elixir storage is high. My PLAN was to get most of these elixir upgrades out of the way first, then when I'm saving for the expensive gold upgrades I can keep my elixir low by dumping it into walls. Now that I'm almost done with the elixir upgrades, SC makes this announcement! I was COUNTING ON being able to spend my elixir on walls!! I'm going to be up to my ears in elixir now that I'll have nowhere to spend it!! ARGH!!!!
spend it on spells. don't be a baby. I had to do my walls the hard way. Its really your own fault for not focusing on walls when you had the chance. Now you want to complain and say its "unfair" haha. I think its great. Work for them walls😈

    I wasn't happy about it.

I am high level, but I don't give a ♥♥♥♥ about that. I was unhappy because I knew what it would do the game's economy. Turns out I was right.

Actually I would be totally fine with this. Also how can you complain about how fair it is? It's not like people could upgrade level 1 walls with elixir. Where are the crocodile tears for those folks?

If anything it should level 10+. The reason why is in order to upgrade a level 10 or 11 wall you need 3m or 4m in storage. This actually means that lots of people will have a substantial amount of elixir that is worth raiding. 1m still allows people to dump it far too rapidly.

An alternative would be requiring people to have a minimum amount in storage before they could dump it into walls. Want to upgrade a level 8 wall, you should have like 2m in storage. Want to upgrade a level 9 wall, 3m. Level 10 wall, 6m. Level 11 wall 8m.

    Why would I do that?

Sometimes changes don't work out the way they planned. They are constantly making adjustments to the game. This is yet another adjustment.

    1. I'd be fine with that as previously stated.
    2. That would be pretty silly since they have determined that the feature has been detrimental to the end game economy.
    3. Should be 10+ or require some sort of minimum storage amount before the dumping could occur.

Hmmm... funny, I don't see that I used the word "unfair" anywhere in my post, yet you are "quoting" the word as though I wrote it.

I have every right to be frustrated because I planned a long term strategy around a legitimate feature of the game. Now that feature is being taken away, thereby killing my strategy. In no way is it my "own fault for not focusing on walls when [I] had the chance" because there was no reason to believe the feature disappear. If I had the ability to see the future or had it been advertised as a limited-time offer, then I'd admit it's my fault for not taking advantage of the feature while I had the chance.

If all of this makes me a "baby", then I'm a baby. To me it sounds like you're also being the "baby" by crying that you "had to do [your] walls the hard way." Boo hoo. When I was your age I had to walk 2 miles uphill both ways to and from school.

Thanks for the suggestion to "spend it on spells." Before the original walls-for-elixir update, I was also up to my ears in elixir. I used it on expensive armies and expensive donations to clan castles... but never spells... I wonder why I never thought of that... So don't you worry, I'll find plenty of creative ways to spend my excessive elixir.

I'd like SC to go back further to when they segregated gold and elixir. Gold for defense, elixir for offense. More resource to steal and less resource to protect.

So develop a new strategy. There's now more dark elixir available at TH7 and TH8, which is something most people would've loved to have available. Plenty of opportunity to plan something new... unless you'd rather sulk.

You can still get walls. It will just take a little longer. If you're going to be upset whenever a change is made that affects you, then this probably isn't the game for you. There's millions of players at all kinds of different levels with different goals they wish to achieve. Invariably, there are always going to be unhappy people.

    Adapt.
