New Defense Idea: Lightning Shield

Sometimes its better to explain to them the issues with their idea they are overlooking rather than just keep wagging your finger at them for suggesting it.

Thus the link in my sig. It is all explained there. Oddly enough, if I had taken the time to type it all out recently I would have just used that as my copy/paste answer but the last time I did is buried in history. So a reminder of the forum policies and a link to the info they seek will have to suffice for today.

yeah i read steve from supercell's weak response. what if you get revenge attacked? no revenge possible there.
and putting your th outside (as others propose) is worse in this situation. you get zapped and sniped, losing de and cups. i'm sure that's just what everyone wants.

everyone seems to hate getting their DE zapped away by lightning spells. i hate when people zap one of my air defenses and dragon raid me (i am currently th7).

how about creating a lightning shield that can be applied to a select building to protect it. it should need re-arming like a bomb or trap, and probably be fairly expensive to acquire like a seeking air mine.

also, if this is too much defensive power and you think it will unbalance the gameplay, you could make it less than 100% effective. it would reduce damage of lightning to prevent destruction or lessen the amount of stolen resources,
but lightning would still significantly weaken the target. (much like a seeking air mine's effect on dragons. they almost kill them but not quite).

They allready upped the hp on dark storage, to lessen the effectiveness of zapping it... no further changes needed, as lightning has been used on buildings and troops, long before Dark Elixir was in the game, and all the polls so far, show the majority don't think it's an issue worth bothering about....

Just because you don't agree with his response doesn't mean it is weak. SC's responsibility is to make keep the whole game stable and successful. Looking at the bigger picture zapping works because it is annoying. Complaints about it reassure SC that it is working. Therefore nothing to fix.

That's exactly what I want. As does every farmer... Or they should anyway. Sounds like you are going with a hybrid base, and IMO that is the worst way to go. It's best to choose what's more important. Cups or loot. If you try to protect both you are leaving yourself vulnerable to the loss of both. Kind of like a deer in headlights that can't decide which way to go and ends up getting splatted because it couldn't pick one direction.

And a greater portion support it or have no problem with it.

I find getting zapped far more preferable than getting my base 3-starred for a loss of all my available loot. It baffles me more people don't see it this way.

Not necessary, I already see that.

if you ever do pass through and 100% my base I will watch the replay over and over with glee. Love of the game will make me enjoy it as a good show more than I will be upset at what I lost.
