Its really tough to win from you guys but..... As you say most players make it offline to be ....whatever u said......so in your case the players who threaten or abuse others will stop cauzzz the person they was threatning is now offline so its good the will not polute global or clan chat.....

Most people who abuse users online tend to be general trollers so it won't really solve that problem.

he means they wont do that either.
They are concerned about liability. Even giving control in showing status to the user they do not escape liability if a bullying incident gets out of hand. The way those things can play out in civil suits they would be at risk as the party that provided the technology.
I suspect you are a really nice guy which is good. But sometimes being a nice guy makes it harder to get just how nasty and vicious some guys can be.

There are a lot of ideas that would be awesome for the game if global chat wasn't a constant reminder of reality. Unfortunately it only takes a handful of trolls to ruin an entire community, thus SC has to program to the lowest common denominator. A sad reality but it is a very real reality. SC (and any other software company really) spends a great deal of money making sure rogue keyboard commandos don't have the tools they need to drive away good customers. Even if those tools would be handy to the good customers.Its really tough to win from you guys but.....
