    New Defense Concept: Patrols

Concept: Have your own units patrol your base

You gain access to this ability at Town Hall 6 and increases in the number of troops of patrolling and the length of their patrols lengthened.

    Town Hall 5:
    Capacity of Patrol-10 troops
    Length-6 tiles

    TH6:
    -CoP-15 troops
    -Length- 10 tiles

    TH7:
    -CoP-20 troops
    -Length- 14 tiles

    TH8:
    -CoP- 25 troops
    -Length- 18 tiles

    TH9:
    CoP- 30 troops
    Length- 22 tiles

    TH10:
    CoP- 35 troops
    Length- 26 tiles

I go into detail on another post on this same concept however I wanted to shorten the idea so it didn't look like a wall of text because I know how people are with those types of posts. However if you want to see that post here is the link.

Understand that I posted this thread to present this concept in a more organized way shorten it up a bit. I am also adding details that wasn't in the post in the above link. I didn't edit the above post due to the fact it is a wall of text but very detailed. Now with that being said below are some details.

    Details:
-troops in your patrols is based on the housing space of the troop chosen i.e. wizards=4 housing space therefore you can only have 2 wizards per patrol at TH6(see stats above) or one dragon at TH7.
-using your troops means they are not safe from perishing as they would be if left in army camps. If you are raided and these troops die you lose them like CC troops
-can split patrols if the patrol is more than one Unit i.e. At TH6 5 barbarians patrol 3 tiles while 5 archers patrol 3 tiles.
-can set length of patrol to the maximum amount or set to 1 tile in hopes to guard that area

Note: these patrols would not behave like CC troops. While CC troops emerge and have a wide range to follow and attack. These patrols have a limited field of view but will follow and attack the spotted invader that comes within their field of view until it dies. If no other enemy troop is spotted the patrol returns to it's designated patrol pattern or area.

Now there is something I didn't include here in this post that I do want to include in the future but I want feedback and desperately need it for this. If you had read the post in my above link, you got that I felt there should be a "Field of view" radius for every unit because if there wasn't a Field of view radius the length of the Patrol would be meaningless.
However that field of range I felt should vary per different unit.

I desperately want to know what you guys think on that matter for this concept to improve. If you have any questions make sure that I did not answer them in the above linked post. Because if you ask a question that was answered in the above linked above post I will know. Also there are details mentioned in the linked thread that I did not post here because I felt they required lengthy explanations. Please comment on those too.

The reason I would want this idea to be implemented is so that it adds something more than just defense buildings, traps and someone else troops to defend our bases. In hopes that it adds a element of difficulty when raiding or attacking bases. New tactics that would need to be considered.

I ask for Constructive Feedback. Tell me why you love or hate it. Suggested improvements?

This is pretty much an extension of the clan castle capacity and would make attacking nigh on impossible. Taking TH8 as an example, you could be attacking against 50 troops...

It's a bad idea no matter how you word it with regards to these troops only being able to patrol a certain area.

Would reducing the number of troops help?

You did an excellent job of thinking it through before presenting. Let me commend that.

But I d have to agree with the above post that this is just augmenting the number of cc troops and that would cause other problems.

Also, to promote teamwork the game is built around the concept that clan (team) mates 'donate' to provide your defensive army. If that is not happening in your clan then they are missing the point of 'team'. You should address that or find another clan that does.
