    Question about getting Xmas trees

Guys there is one quick thing I would need to know

Which of these options would be more effective in order to achieve a christmas tree on the very outskirts of the base?

1: Make a base in which every possible spot for a tree in the interior is blocked, meaning there are no spots on the interior where the tree can spawn. Less obstacles will spawn, but when they do, they will guaranteed be on the outer edge

2: Keep my normal base. More obstacles can spawn, meaning more Xmas trees, but they may not be on the edge like I desire.

Keep in mind that if I achieve a tree with option 1, I will revert back to my original base, happy that I have achieved this.

    Thanks for your input!

I'm doing option 1. Seems less "risky"
    1 zap..
    2 zaps..
    3 zaps..
    80 zaps..
    and counting

I did what you described in option one during the halloween update. I was able to force spawn a headstone on the edge of my base, but it took a long time. However, the year prior to that during the christmas update I left my base the same. I spawned four christmas trees at the edge of my base (except for one, which was a little off). All in all, go for option one if you're content with just having one tree. If you want more than one tree, then you run into the risk of having trees spawn in places you don't want

For the halloween headstones, I did option #2 and I got 3 headstones. 2 On the very outer edge luckily, and one in an awful spot closer to the center. I kept all 3 though. I'll probably do option 1 for the trees though since i'm running out of space.

Quantity or quality? I personally will take as many holiday obstacles as I can and hope that they spawn in a favorable location but if they don't, so be it. If you want one/two guaranteed on the outside, option 1, if you're like me option 2.

Can obstaces spawn in 2x2 spaces covered by an area that troops cannot spawn in?

Xmas Trees spawn like normal obstacles, meaning that they will not spawn directly next to a building or wall. So yeah, they can spawn is a place if troops can spawn in that place and vice versa.

The map border is 2x2 right? By this rule, if I put structures right up against the edge of the map will a tree NOT be able to spawn in that margin (since that would force it to be spawned near the structure)? Or will it be able to, since troops can spawn there even if you build next to the margin?
