4 builders... Should I keep 1 for walls only?

Hi everyone,

So I have 4 builders, going to get the 5th as soon as there's some holidays... But until then how should I use them? I usually get a lot of resources everyday way more than needed for the 5-6 days upgrades... Should I just use 3 and use 1 for walls so that when I get raided I won't lose many? Or should I just use all to upgrade defenses and not care if I lose a lot when I get raided?

I think if you have a solid base that defends your resources well i would keep the 4th builder busy and when one frees up dump some gold \ elixir into some more walls then start another upgrade, your going to get mixed opinions

Well, if you farm a lot and you can't get any more resources because you are full and waiting for a free builder then I say to use 3 builders for upgrades and one for walls. You will have to do walls eventually so it is better to work on walls before your defense is maxed, that way you will save builder time, because after all your buildings are maxed you will start working on walls (I guess) and you will waste builder time.

It really depends on base strength and progression. I currently have 5 builders but have 2 down on heroes so I cant afford to keep one up. So whenever a hero finishes i throw some gold into walls and put the hero back down. If you're constantly sitting on maxed storages and bored then yes I would suggest leaving a builder open. However, if you find yourself struggling to keep upgrades constant then maybe you should be putting that builder down.

It depends on what TH level, and what I need to upgrade. Sometimes I put all 5 to work, sometimes I leave one to do some walls, and then put him to work.

I never let my builders rest. I always make em' busy. Haha! Making one of them rest seems to me like a lot of time are not being put to some good use.

Back when I was town hall 8 with five builders I left one builder for walls and four for defence. In the amount of time it took me to farm all level 8 walls I had finished defence at the same time, so there was no real downtime. I'm now a town hall 9 just finished all my mortars, wizard towers, and elixir upgrades (not troops) so now I begin leaving 4 builders for upgrading defence and 1 for those lovely level 9 walls. Just finish the important defence first like mortars and wizard towers, then leave one. Or you can just leave one before they are done, either way it's a good idea because walls take time and if you wait on them then you'll just have 5 builders sitting around doing nothing for longer at the end.

At townhall 8 and above I would say yes provided you play long enough a day to get enough walls a day to make it worth it.

This is a solid idea in what I do the same. I always have 4 builders upgrading something and 1 builder open for upgrading walls. (I have5 builders in total).

Yes th8 and up always have a builder free for walls. If you don't you will always be a premie with weak walls as its a billion resources to max th9 walls alone. You can do those types of numbers in between upgrades. You need regular focus on walls. Also walls help in war dramatically more than defense in a way since higher defenses just contribute to harder matchups.
