GoWiVa! [TH8]

So I saw this guide, and thought hey I had never used valks before in a proper war, so why not?
It turned out terribly, as I decided to substitute two spells for 4 earthquakes to get to the core.
So I deployed my golems, then wallbreakers after 5 seconds which almost all died unluckily.I spread my wizards and took out the side buildings, then sent in the 9 valks. They went forward well, then the cc troops showed up, wizards.Not a big problem, valks and poison spell took them out.
But by this time I had panicked and dropped the heal spell.Which was useless. My wiz all then went in and died from a giant bomb. MY valks got decimated by the barb ki, although about 4 got in the core.They died promptly, as well the the two witches and barb king which I dropped late.Disapointing 43%

GOVALO works well on bases with cored bases like that, my clan has been running a lot of GOWIVA and GOVALO against bases with cored AD's like that and our successful attacks (about 50% of the time) have been 3 stars and our "unsuccessful" attacks have been a minimum of 93% because we're new with the strategy (which I consider to be encouraging results for a strategy less than 2 wars old for us)

How do you deal with a max dragon (level 5) in the enemy CC? Most TH8s have them in their CC in clan wars.

I've been having a rough time with getting a consistent 3 stars with GoWiPe since those are the only troops i have maxed as a TH8..(currently having hogs upgraded) so i do get 3 stars but not every war with GoWiPe.. so thank your for your thorough guide and i am gonna try this attack out! great guide!

looking forward to my 6 star war attacks..

Before the addition of poison spell witches, wiz and archers were a staple war cc troop but now it has been almost always dragons and the guide says if we somehow we know it is a dragon then it is recommended to lure...

So here's my variant or alternate comp for cc luring:

2 Golems
1 Hog
6 Wall Breakers
12 Wizards
9 Valks
3 Archers

As you can see I only swapped 1 Valk for 1 Hog and 3 Archers. The hog will be used to pullout the dragon and 3 archers to drag..

What do you guys think of the alternate comp? I have not used the above for war..as I mostly use the standard comp as what the guide recommended.

I am having problem with this attack as, everytime my Valks get stuck on hitting on the wall while the point defenses behind those walls shoot on them. This is during late in the raid where the core is wiped out and already exhausted all six wallbreakers. What is the best thing to do to remedy this? Should I save a last pair of wall breakers in case this happen?

GOVALO. Hit those point defenses with backend loons. The second your valks run into walls while getting hit by point defenses is the second your three star attempt is generally over.

Is GoVaLo better than GoWiVa?
I have watched the GoVaLo guide from OneHive and \/alhalla but they are both for TH9. Not much guides for TH8

Depends on the base, but if I can use an earthquake spell and get 14 valks into a core with all 3 ADs, I'm GOVALOing all day.

Unfortunately my 8 just hit 9 so I can't test Govaho as opposed to govalo until I get my mini up, but I think backend surgical hogs could work just as well if not better.
