Please help! TH8 in need of help!

Ok, thanks for clicking on this to help first of all. Secondly, I need a lot.... Or ton of help.. I have been th8 for 2 months and it seems very hard. I do not know what to upgrade first, what base to build, even an attack strategy or a trophy range for farming! My clan is a group of friends so they do not help much either. Any help? My base info to stay updated with me:

Current Base (as of 12/4/14): http://imgur.com/1Pr6Q7N

    Name: Nagymekh
Clan #: Soccer Gods #POP80GJ (Yes that is a zero not a O)
    Clan Trophies: 5411
    My trophies: 1300-1450

I will try to update this so I can post a link but this is how to stay updated with me for now! Thanks for reading and helping!

Well upgrade your defenses first, then de drill and barracks. The main start to use in farming is barch or bam. And for the trophy range that is good, but if your farming for de go to crystal league.
    Stats as of 10/2/16:
    Highest Troop: Hound(1)|Royalty: AQ:5 BK:7|TH:9|GG: 45.5m|EE: 48.7m|HH: 69.6k
Thank you Milo for the sig and avatar!

For your base, I would prefer to swap the WT and Mortar as your current setup wastes the mortar's long range. Prioritize splash defense over point defense. During my time as TH8, I stayed at trophy range 1600-1700 using mainly barch. Not sure if I'm lucky but I always find inactive bases and almost maxed TH7 with lots of resources. I use Heal to support barbarians trying to enter the core. For DE, max your drill asap.

I feel your pain! I've been at town hall 8 for about a month now and am loving the ability to actually defend and attack with some power behind it! I think I made a good decision to max my TH7 base entirely before moving on up, walls included...

There are some fantastic guides on this board where I've learnt a lot of tips - but in general how I've done my journey

    1. Clan castle to level 4 (5 extra troops make a world of difference to any defense, more than you think!)
    2. Wizard towers to level 5 (I did these before mortars because they target air attacks too)
    3. Mortars to level 6 (them flaming fireballs one-shot most foot troops)
    4. DE drill to level 2
    5. DE storage to level 2
    6. Dark barracks to level 4 (I want them golems, bad)
    6. Barbarian King to level 5 (currently on level 4 and half way to enough DE for level 5)

But nothing comes cheap - since reaching TH8 I've looted just over 60 million gold to pay for the upgrades (that's only at TH8 level) and I haven't even started on archer towers and cannons which will cost just over 25 million to max out. Next on my to-do list is the air defense to level 6 and teslas to level 4 ....

So let me stop yakking and get back to mindlessly plundering bases.....

I focused on maxing out splash defenses, as others have stated.. Get that 4th mortar up to par with your other mortars. For a trophy range of less than 1800, I would suggest putting your air defenses a layer outwards from where they are right now and replace those with mortars since you don't get too many air attacks at that trophy range. Air attacks will be more common when you push trophies to crystal or upwards. Also, having an air defense covering the edges of your base helps with healer and giant attacks. It will take you about 2-3 months to max that base out, so have patience and keep clashing!

I am using Three Doors base by Avernicus. I modify it a bit to my taste. Works really well. Note that until your max your mortars and wizard towers, any TH8 base will be sitting duck.
