Maxed TH8 - trying (ie failing) to protect DE

Hi, sitting at Gold 3 currently finishing barracks and building up resources prior to upgrading to TH9, but I'm still getting blatted by TH9/10s for DE quicker than I can replenish it. Moving higher to get more DE I get raided more, moving lower there's no DE arounf. Any suggestions on improving the base or should I just suck it up?

Firstly,
If you want your TH Snipped, move it away from your defenses, you are putting off snipers with it there. The more attractive to snipers you make it, the less chance someone will deep raid you and take everything. The higher the league you are the quicker you get snipped. I got sniped by a lvl32 TH5 in Gold 1 today lol.

As a Max TH9 feasting of fat TH8's... There is nothing you can do to protect yourself, with my regular army and spells I can take any dark from a TH8 base, however you can make your base less attractive to raid.

Putting gold Elixir and Dark all in the center together is a bad idea. Your attacker can just go in from one side, get to the center and take everything. spread out your loot, if nothing else it may limit your loses

Gaps in the base are a good deterrent.
Is there spring traps between those defenses, am I going to lose a lot of giants here. Whilst you have spaces, they are only in the center and inner rings, not the middle ring.
4x2 spaces put off hog attacks for fear of double bombs.

Your CC is central which is good.

Difficult as you are saving to make the TH9 move, but if your dark is high, keep your gold and elixir low, this will make it far less attractive for people like me to spend 100k + spells flattening you :-) If I can cover my elixir costs and profit gold and dark, I am going to attack you.

Cheers for your suggestions, I've moved my TH to the edge and will have a tinker with the base this evening to try and separate out the storages and gaps better.

I know you want to max your barracks, but you are out of gold upgrades and kinda stuck. I would recommend going ahead and upgrading your Town hall and finishing the upgrades while your TH upgrades. The X Bow is so powerful and good on defense, its a must have, especially for an obviously good player like yourself.

As said before, u should move your TH to the outside so that snipers attack that and you get a free shield. Also, I just became a TH 8 and I’m getting crushed by TH 9 and 10. There’s nothing you can do about that. Besides the TH, though, I think you are looking really good. Also, as said before as well, you should upgrade your TH ASAP because you can upgrade your barracks while it’s upgrading. Upgrading will get you much better troops and defenses.
