Just put it this way:

1 star (a TH snipe) = loss of 4-14 trophies. + 12 hour shield.

2 stars (raid + TH) = loss of 8-28 cups + shield still.

3 stars (a full out Demolisher raid) = loss of 12-48 trophies + shield still.

1 stars is the most pleasing, how would that occur? A TH snipe!

Although the small loss may not be pleasing, it is better than chance of a 2-3 star.

Yeah by putting your th outside you are making the chance of getting a 3 star less. But most players who arent too hardcore think they should put their th inside and some people just feel that people will fear a trophy base and next you. Unfortunetly when you are that high up, you're dead trophy base or not. Plus a nice guy could snipe you instead of killing you

after a while the chances of someone 3 staring your base are actually very low. Look in how many 3 star attacks your clan do against not rushed TH10, and this is after you had time to analyze the base and build a tailor made army .

Well just try to understand the OP is frustrated because he is a TH8 (like myself) and any TH8 has no chance whatsoever of not being 3 starred once they reach crystal.
So most TH8s tend to keep their TH outside coz its better losing 5-6 trophies than risk losing 30 and the OP feels everyone should do the same which is clearly not the case for TH 9 and 10 peeps.

My version is something like this:
"hey people in crystal and master. Why dont you put your th outside? I want to get easy loot from league bonus. Oh and i also want easy cup to reach champ. So that i can get easy 2k gems. Then i can tell my clanmates and forumers i reached champ with th8 easily"

to start with champions is not the normal league for a th8, even if you do it once for the gems and then you get back to crystal....
IF you reach champions league then u will see slowly slowly as u move upwards that cup offering actually starts to decrease!!! having your th outside, sure puts you in a position that u can be snipped for 1 cup, BUT what do you do when u get snipped for -14 and more? losing 14 cups, equals to 2-4 hours of gameplay after 3400+ ! Winning a defense though, makes u win 20+ trophies, sometimes 30+ as well since u mostly get attacked by higher trophy champions! SO to break it down for you in simple words... i'd rather take the chances and put my th inside for THAT defense win (even if the probability is 1/10 for that to happen) cause the cup gain from that defense win can actually save an entire day of gameplay

That's just mad. I'm TH8 trying to reach Champ to get the 1000 gems. Right now I'm on Crystal I. 65K of each and 300 DE... that's a ♥♥♥♥ing lot, and it's produced out of nothing. It's not stealed from the defender. Just destroy an outter TH with 3-5 archers and that's it. BOOM! Free farm for everyone. Every single one could get the 2600 trophy achievement easyly and keep farming for their needs FREE. No stealing or losing mats. I wonder why still ppl don't have the TH outside...

If only this could reach every single one...
