How? Just use up all your DE and Voila! No DE left to be zapped..

Go to sub 200 or sub 100.

The most important IMO is to leave your TH totally unprotected so you don't repel farmers who TH snipe to stay in range- they'd likely not be willing to spend more than a few troops on a snipe. The less snipers you repel, the quicker you get shield after you log off.

The only place you're safe from zapping is Champs, rest is meh

I just had 80k de in my storage in crystal 3 and still was only taking th snipes and I'm only a TH8! All I had was DE though. I always made sure to spend all of my gold and elixir. Don't stock more than 1 type of resource at a time and you will be fine. The only time you should have more than one resource is when you are upgrading your TH.

However, what it could be s the loot cap and loot penalty. If a TH9 attacked me at TH level 8, the max DE I would have available would be 2k (90% of the 5% storage value). If a TH10 attacked me, the max available would be only 1k (50% of the 5% storage value). At TH8 or below, when attacking a Th9 or above, 100% of the 5% total storage value would be available, which If you had a level 5 storage or above would be 2.5-3k DE. Assuming 1 lightning bolt takes 300-400 DE per strike (or 12% to 13%) on a storage with 2.5-3k available, that is 1.2-1.5k stolen.

To a TH9 or TH10 looking at me with only 2k and 1k respectively, unless there was a plentiful amount of some other resource to take they would most likely pass me by. A TH7 in crystal is very rare due to the weak defenses and they can most likely gain more DE on a TH9 or 10 than me. With numbers like that, I don't think there is much you can do to prevent zaps at TH9 or 10.

Th6 and below don't zap DE so I think 800 trophies is safe.
