This seems like a decent idea, but the horizontal bar seems better. I do agree with you, and even at TH7, I can't find my Barbarian King and he died once before I could use his ability. I think a health bar with a number value equal to the amount of hitpoints left could be a better suggestion
I am going to rate this thread a
3/5 because I have had problems with my Barbarian King before, and I understand this problem as much as you do. But the vertical health bar would be more difficult to see, or maybe there could be an option to toggle between a vertical or horizontal health bar for the heroes.
