Just realized how BORING pushing is!

Recently I thought, I could try to push to champ as I got a pretty well developed TH10 base (not everything maxed, but at leaset one level before maxing). I satrted by building a Trphy base and gained about 100 trophies the first night. Then I thought about which army combination to use and I decided to try it with barch, as I really hate waiting 3 hours for my army to build and don't want to use my precious gems on boosting barracks. Soon I realized that barch isn't as easy as it sometimes sounds and I switched to an all archer army which took me to about 2700 trophies, but at this point I was asking myself if pushing is really better than farming, because to find a base with enought buildings outside, I got to press next nearly as often as I need to find a good base to farm and the only source of resources is often the league bonus which is in M3 with 100k quite much, but with farming I gain so much more loot and seeing a replay of an attack that brought you 150k gold is so much more satisfying than seeing one where I gained 10k gold and maybe 7 trophies!
My result is that pushing suckes as you have to choose wether you want so wait very long for your army to build, or to spend abnorous amounts of gems on boosting, or to use a cheap fast army where you always have to struggle for the last few percentage. I guess I will just continue to max my base and then try to reach champs with defenses, but I'm not gonna push again as long as it is just so BORING and you don't got get a great loot once a while you can be happy about!
You don't have to share my view, but this is how I experienced pushing.

I actually find that pushing is more fun as it means I get to use a non-barch/arch army. It also is a lot less nexting for me than farming. Maybe try balloonion - 20 loons, 70 mins. Much more fun than barching

I don't really get what you mean? When you trophy push it is logical that you don't get really great loot.... You're more satisfied seeing 150k raid? Then farm, don't push..... And try to use higher lv troops and more combination to be able to penetrate defenses.... What you're doing no is not pure trophy push, it's TH/50% sniping..... If you are really trophy pushing, you have to be able to bear loss....
you can either go up a league pushing trophy, or going down to search for loot, not both....

I thought about that too, but using minions would mean I'd have to upgrade them to a higher level (got them on 3) because I focused on my heroes. And then there is that stupid build time again, 20 baloons spread over 4 barracks still need 40 mins to train and I guess you would habe to use spells too, which need even longer to cook.

    That's exactly what I'm saying!
I just wanted to share my experience with other players thinking about pushing.

    Pushing to Champs

Pushing is a grind, and as you reach Masters 2 and up you begin to realise that you need to raid three or four times each time your shield runs out as you'll get raided within minutes of logging off and rarely win. Also, a failed attack costs you usually 3+ 1-2 star wins (3 stars very rare in M-1 and up).

All that said, after pushing for three weeks from Crustal 2 to champs, the sense of satisfaction made any fat farming raid seem like an empty victory, and strutting my stuff on global with a Tiki shield felt good. Also the sense of pride was real.

I combined Super Dragoon and GoWiPe to make champs and would generally raid 1-2 fat farm raids wth BAM then 3+ "push" raids so my trophy total gained was more than I was likely to lose from one defeat, then let my shield run until I had time to run 2-3 attacks again. I also tapped my screen whilst I watched TV to ensure after I broke shield I stayed active until I was ready to quit because otherwise I got raided instantly.

Not sure pushing is supposed to be fun, it's hard work but the sense of pride and bragging rights make it all worth while for me. Good luck to you.

Ultimately it does come down to those few options. Recently I've made the climb to 2700, with a base described similarly to yours. I have a few gems handy and am thinking of going to champs purely for the 'achievement' and some sort of result for effort. You can try throwing in a big army every now and again. It does bring a bit of variety. My valks will be max by the weeks end and I have enough DE to mess around a bit.
My main goal is wall finishing with champs and then drop down to farm.

I can't comment on pushing (because I have never pushed - sometimes I end up on gold 3 (hey that's massive for me) purely from barching)

I believe you find satisfaction with farming / pushing depending on the reasons why you are doing it.

Ask yourself why were you pushing to start with...

To hit a milestone and add more gems to your precious gems?
    Personal glory?
Or simply the fact that you look good in a red dress?

For me I choose farming, but I am a TH8.

Regarding 'Pushing'. Are you able to find a base you could loot from as well as get stars to elevate you higher on the leader board.

Regarding 'Farming' you are 'nexting' as often as a push. I usually don't settle for anything less than 150K Gold or Elixir.

Good luck with your push / farm / clash

@OP...not trying to burst your bubble even more here but the 'end-game' with respect to trophy pushing can be summed up in 1 word: CLOUDS

Once you hit 3600 after each 'Next' you see 1-4min of clouds, usually for a 5-9 cup total offering unless you get really lucky and win the prize of attacking a leaderboard base for decent cups.

Once you hit 4k or higher I am told by clan mates you will see anywhere from 15-45min of clouds after each 'Next'. So they attack whatever base comes up first (usually for a single cup), then gem army+spells+heroes, rinse and repeat until the 6hr forced logoff message pops up on their screen...at which point they gem heroes and logoff to take a 20-40 cup loss from someone in Master I.

Sad but true that is the pinnacle of this game wrt pushing. So if a great loot raid makes you happy I'd recommend farming until you're "maxed" then pushing. Getting that Red Shield for the first time is exhilarating and best feeling in my 2yrs of playing the game...the end-game realization that came after was nigh unto heartbreak. So now I literally just play for fun with family & virtual friends...which isn't so bad

I beg to differ. Whenever I push, and many others that I know, we go for the ressies too. Sure you want to get the win, that's the pushing part. But what's the fun in pushing if you aren't making good amounts of loot in the process.

@OP, I would suggest stop pushing if you really don't like it. Or you can switch it up and use a slightly longer army to cook so you can break into bases easier, or get that little bit more loot in whatever way you can, depending on the base of course. You can do both. It just means you gotta change how you are doing it if you are not gaining ressies, but if it isn't for you, it isn't for you.

Where there's will there is a way.
