Some people just collect from mines and collectors without raiding due to time restrictions... And having a shield after one attack then not playing for days will still have full mines ect.. Whilst still having the shield.
I've raided many people with 250k+ of each resource all in mines and collectors at the 2000-2200 trophy range
I consider myself a pretty successfull lazy farmer in the 1200 cup range with my th8. It took me all of one day to figure out that a blank shield was right up there with idle builders on the 'Where is all the loot' scale.
That being said, I like finding the abandoned bases, so please leave some for me.

Errr no! But nice try. The league badge tells if the player has attacked in the current tournament. You still need to look at the graphics. It is possible for a player to log on and collect resources from pumps and mines without attacking.Originally Posted by hb808
Yes, I've noticed people in my clan who don't attack often but come on to just to check battle log, refill clan troops, collect from mines/collectors, donate and then log off.
And you have to consider those people who buy week long shields.. though I don't know how often people really do that since I never would.
People who quit also would have resources in their storages too. I've attacked plenty of people without league shields who had 60%+ of loot in their storages.

It's just another thing to keep an eye out for. Paired with all of the other ways to tell, it should rarely surprise anyone where the loot is anyway.

There will always be minor outliers to my method. But, in general, it is a quick and easy way to assess your prey. You can swoop in like a hawk and take what is theirs in a minute instead of wasting energy assessing other variables.
Here is a demonstration of this method in action:
*As you can see this is a prey that I came across using the random attack method.
*This is not a revenge so I cannot pre-plan my assault on their base.
1) No league shield, a minor amount of loot (but hey free is free), and
there are 20 seconds left in the timer for me to decide (but I've already decided because there is no shield and all of the collectors are outside so I know it is gonna be easy money honey sugar)
2) This is my prey after I've have finished my assault on their e-town. You'll notice I made absolutely no effort going for the storage in the center. I just focused on the collectors. Oh look! All of that precious gold and elixir is gone baby gone.
I have a minute and 59 seconds left. Should I make the replay longer or log out? Should I give them a free shield or move on?
Forget all that I'm going to move on to my next victim.
