how to farm DE in gold league

Hey guys and gals.. ive been trying many different trophy counts for DE... gold 1, crystal, masters... non seem to work.
i found a lot of DE in masters but i wasnt comfortable with the intensity of having to win every raid. In crystal i found some DE too.. but that's all i found there.. DE. My walls need some food too.
ive come to the conclusion that im most comfortable in gold 1-2.. i just need some help learning how to farm DE down there.

I just use my normal army of 8 giants, 100 barbs, 60 archers, both heroes and a heal spell or two. You could spare the heal and take wallbreakers if you wish.
Only attack bases with 500-750 DE minimum

My giants are still lvl 5 as i never bothered to upgrade them.. do you think i should save some elixir for those?

Yeah, you'll perform a lot better with Lv6. They get a pretty big stat boost with that upgrade. When I had Lv5 I took 10-12 giants instead of 8.
You could also request that your clanmates give you giants to help you get to the centre of bases.

I tend to attack bases with 700+ dark and 100k+ elixir to cover the cost of the army, obviously anything above that is a bonus.
It goes without saying that TH8s will be easier than TH9 since they don't have Xbows or a Queen. Also bases with DE storages near the outside is attractive.

Just remember to lure out the castle troops when using giants because a wizard can wipe them all out

The way I used to get fast dark elixir is to get as much lighting spells as possible and use them on a de storage.

The best way is probably giants with barch (maybe some goblins too) and pick on TH8s and bad TH9s. That seemed to work pretty well for all the TH9s that stole my DE while I was a TH8 haha

This cheapest and in my opinion most effective way to get DE is to use barch. Snipe exposed DE drills and attack DE storage within in 2 or 3 walls. I got thousands from this. Also I have 30,000 DE right now and am in Sliver one so if you find a base named William with the clan Turtles please don't attack me. Thank you!
