I know. I quote yours because you quoted JZ, and my statement was directed towards JZ.

    Calm down here mates

this man simply just asked for some CnC starting tips.

But srlsy JZ just stop giving CnC... Clearly nobody appreciates it and your CnC is prob the least helpful around here anyway. It only starts even more fights.

I believe you need to add shadows to your graphics.

    Photoshop Shadow effects -

Click on the layer you want to make effects on ľ the layer should light up in blue
Double click your mouse on the layer to bring up LAYER STYLE window

You have a heap of styles to choose from
Play around with the Blending options and see which you like

    Simple example below

Above is original PNG Image that
you can download from the net

Above is a simple example of shadow
effects that you can achieve on Photoshop

    Experiment and Good luck

    - dinner
Working on it after breakie, thanks for tips

I'd say use the smudge tool, but use it as a smaller brush so that it's subtle and you can't see a major difference.

Does this work? I've done it before though not for Smoothening edges:

Duplicate layer you want to smoothen, blur it and lower the opacity to 10% or whatever suits. And if you want certain parts smoothened kinda thing, maybe you can rub unnecessary parts from that duplicated layer ..
