My town hall is level 9 and I farm in Crystal III (usually 2000-2100). I focus on gold too but I can get 800+ dark elixir in every raid with BAM, normally 1,000+. The attacks are generally not too difficult, so I'd recommend coming here, but you might get more dark elixir farming somewhere else.

Is Chrystal 1 still the best place to get DE these days? And is it worth trying Masters for DE as TH9 (still need a few Dark troops upgrading as well....)

Depends on how much DE you want. The higher you go, the more you see, and the higher you go, the tougher your opponents (usually).

So climb trophies until you're satisfied with what you're seeing and with how much you're raiding.

I am coming to the end of my elixir lab upgrades at TH9, so can start concentrating more on the DE.

I am farming DE in C1 too using Giants + BArch.
