Dark Elixir at TH7 after getting Barb King

So I JUST got my barb king after almost a week of getting 1,000+ DE raided from me every single night, was very frusturating and a grind! hahah.

Anyways DE is SUCH a pain to aquire, Im sure part of it has to do w my Trophys only being at 1100, but I had to spend around 230k in Dragons, Balloons, and Spells just to get an average of 450 Dark Elixir.

I know the King is very important but other than the king for TH7 there is.......

Barb King Upgrade Lvl2-5: 55,000 total
Minions Lvl2: 10,000
Hogs Lvl2: 20,000

Just seems like WAY too much of a pain to save up the 85k DE at TH7, and I should just wait untill I get a Drill at TH8.

I dont think I should search out Dark Elixir in raids but if I get any I will use them on Hogs or Minions for me or to help out Clan Mates.

Even upgrading my DE Storage to Lvl2 for the 1.2mil Elixir seems like a waste right now....

Is it okay to skip these untill TH8?

u don't need to upgrade anything else with De, u can use what u get for farming with minions.
But u HAVE to get lev to DE storage b4 th 8....

I'd definitely upgrade the storage as there isn't much you can do with 10 000 DE.

For farming DE you need to go higher or next longer to find bases you can get at with barch giants wall breakers.

I got my BK to level 3 and minions to 2 before going on to th8. I don't really feel like you should wait around at th7 for DE although BK level 5 is so much better then level 1-4.

So my suggestion is if your builders are busy and getting resources isn't too bad climb trophies and go for DE (lots of guides on here) but don't sweat it.

Personally? IMO The king is worth it. Make a quicker, cheaper farming army like Loonion instead of dragons (30 balloons and 25 minions, its 150 DE, but worth it if you can hit a filled DE storage )and go up to gold 3 or silver 1. Lots of DE to be raided from th7s and 8. Hogs from what i hear are only good from level 3 on, so thats your preference. Minions are great for farming so another viable upgrade if you want. All of them aren't necessary, but I suggest upping the King to 5 before going up. I didn't and im regretting not taking advantage of the superb amounts of loot at Th7 (rushed th8 during the weeklong 1 gem boost)

I found that BAMing in low gold/high silver worked well. That was a couple months ago tho...

Just go up to as high as you can in the trophy count, there will be plenty of dark elixir.

Getting DE at TH7 or TH8 isn't easy. The bases with the most DE are strong TH9 or TH10 players, and TH7 troops have next to no chance of getting it.

You have two options:

1) Don't stress much about DE until TH9.
2) Climb trophies into Crystal and constantly farm exposed drills.

At th7 you only really need to farm the bk dark elixir wise. I can tell you that dark elixir gets much much easier to acquire at higher town halls, so don't worry. Just focus on defenses and walls for the time being.

I agree that DE is more difficult to get at th7, but not impossible. In silver 1 there are all kinds of bases with 2-500 to get. In Gold 3, 500-1k bases. I may not get it all but on avg 150-300 de when i target it. Also don't rule out zapping especially when revenging.
After you get the king, you can get DE easier for upgrades. BK5 is great advantage at th7.
once you start picking bases with positive DE, you'll find it accumulates pretty well. Yeah, you will lose some but that is the game.
I plan to max burgerking, minions and hogs before going to th8.

After reading this I think I will wait untill TH8 to start seriously farming DE, if I happen to get 10k to upgrade Minions or something while Im still working on my walls, and all my other research is done then I might do that. I think Minions or Hogs lvl2 would benefit me more than Barb King Lvl2

I did change my mind about not upgrading the DE Storage, might as well since I will have alot of spare Elixir while trying to push for my walls....
