There are obviously solutions to the Loot Problem, and SC probably have a couple of ideas, but it will take awhile.
The next-fest (too many low loot available bases in a row)
Unbalanced bases (bases that only have gold and no elixir or vice-versa)
The lack of collectors bases
Too big a drop in loot available as th increases (th9/10)
The lack of large storage bases

People want fast and easy. Thats a big issue...
I came out wrong, the Townhall loot and league bonus would stay the same but Supercell sends mixed messages by saying....
"You get a 50% loot penalty for attacking a TH 2 levels below you."
Then you hit the next button
"Hey look at this TH7-TH8 that you can only take 50% resources from....Enjoy! "
My idea is that the loot penalty gets adjusted the higher lower townhalls get up in trophy count. (Let's say 5% increase in loot that can be stolen per sub league capping out at 100%, and inversely for lower townhalls capping out at 150%)
This way Farmers in Silver League will have a harder time picking off weaker bases and Lower Townhalls get smashed in Crystal (where they have no business being in) for trying to get to close to the sun.
Every time there is a "maintenance" break, all of the inactive bases are removed. All of that loot is then gone. Regardless if you prefer raiding collectors or destroying a base for the storages the little fish feed the big fish.
Give it a week for the next wave of people to quit then things will be back to normal until the next maintenance break.
since i've reached th9 i didn't go any or really really rare collectors raid (wich i would count as a bonus)
we don't want easy loot...
we just want to be worth it...
nexting 100 times to find only raid offering less than the cost of your army or equal is not worth it... and the time it takes to find one that has something worth your "elixir cost" army... the nexting went so high it is now no more "gold worth" the raid...
so either i go for gold and raid the first 50k base i know i can get all of it...
or i next until i found a base that has the double amount of elix it cost me and hope i get 50% of it... and that i win a star so the bonus grant me a minimal "positive ratio"
it is getting old and boring pretty fast.. faster than i want to admit...

Same problem here. Playing 18+ mos and have never had the problem I have had recently. Who the hell wants to spend 15 minutes searching for a mediocre base to attack? I play this thing on my phone; if anyone wants to dedicate this much time and effort to a pissance of a loot grab every 90 minutes, you're crazy.
Fix the problem SuperCell, or I'll start playing World of Warriors.
Most important, people fail to realize this is a strategy game. If your strategy doesn't work, try a new one. Im th10 and have no problem finding good loot on a more than consistent basis.
how about change the "next" button and put an option to choose between gold and elixir to be spent when searching.
