Raiding has not been worth it spending over 100000+ gold just to find a decent raid

hey everyone...so for the past few days i have not had any luck finding a decent base to raid. I just upgraded my TH but im not sure if that has anything to do with it. I have moved between gold 1 and silver 1 the past few days and every level still had the same problem. i either get a bunch of people with 1000 gold and elixer witch is not even worth trying for me or i get people with a decent amount that are just impossible to beat so either way im loosing loot. it takes at least 10-15 min to find someone and over 100K gold unless things change i may need to stop playing because i cant even get enough loot to sustain my army or upgrade anything. I get 99 percent of my loot from raiding so if i just keep loosing more then i gain its like whats the point in trying anymore it hasnt been much fun like this. But i am a clan leader so i at least need to have enough to war so i am in a little bit of a predicament. I really have enjoyed the game but lately it just has been very frustrating not being able to find a decent raid....please supercell work on this issue or if anyone has any ideas that could help me i am all ears thanks

What th level did you upgrade to?

People at th9 are generally finding it hard and th10 very hard to find loot.

Also if you are in the same range as you were before you are likely getting half the loot from a number of the bases you were attacking before due to the loot penalty from attacking lower town halls.

yeah i have a level 10 TH i kind of rushed into getting it because there was afew things i wanted to get but i really regret doing that now..has this loot penalty always been in effect or is this something new?? also thanks for the heads up i had no idea why this was happening...i just don't like this system because i feel the point of the game is to keep getting better and this loot penalty system i feel would discourage people from wanting to upgrade things if i knew of this before i would never had leveled up my townhall

There's a lot of people that always say max your th (or nearly max) so it was safe to assume there was a reason for that. There's a warning note on your th upgrade that says you'll get less loot from anything below you as well. I'm not sure anyone can blame ignorance since it flat out tells you the loot will be worse if you just look below the new buildings you can make. You can keep getting better without upgrading early so that is a weird thing to say.

You aren't going to find great loot in low gold or silver as a TH10 so that is your problem though.

The loot penalty is to prevent TH9 and Th10 from preying on helpless lower levels.

You shouldn't be upgrading to TH10 unless you have your raiding troops maxed from TH9, at a bare minimum. That way, you at least have the power to raid other TH10s.

Keeping that loot is another story if you are far behind in defensive updates.

The higher you go, the more difficult it should be.

why did you not read the fine prints that pops up for upgrading? stop being silly and restart your game from the beginning : )

i guess my main issue though is i go through 30-40 bases when looking for a raid all of which have less then 30000 gold and elixer then ill get one thats got a decent amount but not worth trying to raid my troops are all at lvl 5 and it just seems like they are no match for anyone with x bows ....i am lucky if i even get someone with over 100000 gold/elixer so would you say i should look at a higher level like gold 1 crystal 3 for better odds of finding bases with more loot?? because unfortunately i cant let my mistake effect my whole clan so i really need to keep trying to make this work. man i wish there was a way to downgrade your th lol

You definitely need to go up. You should be at a place where you are mainly seeing th9 bases, th8 collector bases would also work but you do take 50% penalty against them. I can't really tell you where though because I'm only th8 around 1750 trophies.
