TH9 Gems

So I am a pretty fresh TH9. I have all of the new defenses built and all of the walls to dark purple. I just cashed in a free gift card for 2500 gems and am contemplating using them to knock down the time of certain upgrades. I have around 3300 total. Any opinions on what to do best? I was considering using it on research time, or to get my drills as high as possible. I am planning on only doing the time (I will raid for the elixir/gold and gem the time once I have the resources to start something new).

Save the gems for when resources are low, so you can boost your barracks and keep raiding. Gemming the time just makes it so that you have to raid a lot more in a lot less time in order to keep your builders busy. Troop upgrades/Camps might be gemmable just depends on your farming range/tactics

Assuming you have all your builders(they should be the first thing you Gem) I would recommend getting the main farming troops to level 6. After that, if you war, your main troops up as well. Maybe the rest in your king or queen with a few left to boost barracks and keep those builders building!

boost your barracks spell factory and heroes and have a great time farming!

The OP clearly said he wants to gem time, why in the world are people so hell bent on telling him to spend it on loot? Anyways, to the OPer I'm in the same situation as you, I have absolutely no problem keeping all 5 builders busy and am continuously waiting for them to finish up with lots of loot waiting to be spent. As someone who's maxed out th9 in the past, I would highly suggest speeding up heroes. You will be done with all upgrades WELL before you are done with heroes and walls. It takes about 3 to 4 months to max defense for th9 but over half year to max the heroes. So the heroes are your best bet

You could also gem your DE drill (level 3 or 4 only) upgrade time so you don't lose extended period of DE production time.

Personally I would only use them for boosting barracks/factory etc but if you have no problem getting enough resources them I would suggest gemming lab time if anything.

If you have 5 builders then each hour of lab time gives you 5 hours of builder time. Plus the higher level troops would probably be more benificial then building time.

I wouldn't waste it on defensive buildings or production buildings. I might consider gemming heroes or spell factory especially if you regularly war.

either boost barracks and raid, or save your gems for hero times once they get to the 1 week upgrades.

Gemming the time to lvl6 archers sounds good, but using lvl5 archers isnt that bad. Having no hero for a war attack sucks, I've been doing it for a while now, save those gems for heroes.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I do have five builders and I have not had any issue with keeping them busy. Of course I am still working on getting all of the new defenses up to TH8 max level, but they are going as planned. I currently have my gold storages maxed am about to start some more expensive things tonight. I was thinking about the hero path, the only thing holding me back at this time is waiting for my dark elixir to build. That is why I somewhat considered using it on drills to produce more outside of raids.
