How do most people deal with those that join and immediately expect to be given troops? I personally don't think just kicking them is enough so I usually give them goblins or wallbreakers.

A leader's responsibility? Basically everything. Well no one can decide on it, since you're the leader. You get to make the choices :P

On a more serious note, I , as a leader myself, thinks that the leader is responsible for almost EVERYTHING going on in the clan. From chat to donations, from attacking discipline to replays...If someone is not doing sth irresponsible, then you deal with them.

    12gunner, you're mean

My current clan is active ask donation after 5 seconds gets filled up with lv4 ,5 and 6 troops
and also anything you ask like golem and you will get it soon the best is asking for base defense and a witch might just dump into your cc

btw most clans should take donations seriously last week I joined a US based clan for like 2 day and they say only lv4+ troops but I received lv2 & 3 archers I was like wow and just leave

We give them troops without expecting anything upfront. Making new members immediately feel welcome is important. Then I explain the rules to them, and if they don't like my way of doing things, they'll probably leave.

Same here ....... we do the same in our clan.... after a few requests etc, the rules are gently explained if necessary, often they leave, some stay, rarely do we have to kick...

With regards to war - we only war once a week, and pretty relaxed -- we expect everyone to at least take part if possible, - kick after a couple of no-shows....

The important thing a leader needs to understand and thats this is a game so they need to let players play the game their way. apart from clan wars you can play this game just fine without being in a clan and i have many work mates who play it that way.

Having the core of the clan personal friends/family/collegues really does help to set up trust and friendship whereas a clan of strangers with a leader who uses the threat of kicking members if they dont bow down to his (very little actual power) ends up with a clan full of short term members. all depends what you want from being in a clan

The problem with family/work based clans is no matter what you're probably never going to kick them. This somewhat limits authority.

I am also in a work clan, well half work half the leaders family, and well some aren't great at attacking I would rather play with them then some random clan. Most clans use chat to get to know either and form some friendships keeping members loyal. Your clan has that so just give advice, and play the game until you have a problem. When you do talk to them.

    Leaders Responsibility

I started a clan with just my friends (I am the leader) and I made 4 co-leaders, at different intervals since the clan started. We currently have 29 people, all of which someone in the clan knows. with friends there it is easier because everybody respects each other. I have kicked 3 friends who stopped playing and they were fine.

The one rule in our clan is you must attack in the clan war. You get 2 chances and then you are kicked. Everybody participates in our clan, and we win the wars about 80% of the time.

Between myself, and the 4 co-leaders, we know everyone personally, so it works out good.

We tried adding a couple randoms once but that lasted 1 war before they were kicked.

I think a leader should be fair but also being decisive, it's important for people especially coleaders to have an opinion and say in things, but nobody wants a vote or discussion everytime.

I also think it is important for people in the clan to understand they way it is going, is it s social clan? Does it have ambitions or a bit of both? In my clan I have in the past had to boot loyal players who became less active or just weren't getting anywhere, I felt bad but I did it because I have the clans interest at heart. I guess im firm but fair :P

I think at the end of the day a good clan leader has a good set of coleaders and elders helping him/her out! We are all human and being a leader can be a tough job!

Same thing goes in my clan... In a single season we have 7 to 8 members with 3k donations and 10 to 12 with 1k. Donations are really helpful and it helps build the camadrie within the clanmates.
