Can SC just buff Lava Hounds already?

That vid by godson showcased how powerful lvl 40 heroes and freeze spells are moreso than the hound. His heroes took out the queen and one of the ADs, while the 3 freeze spells locked up the infernos. He could have went with more balloons and done the same thing. At the start where his hound plus few loons takes out one AD plus pulls cc, +6 loons instead would have done that too and a lot cheaper than the DE cost.

As far as I'm aware loonion wasnt a staple three star army on maxed bases before hounds, its sometimes difficult to see how useful a tank is being when watching a raid. Its mainly the second part of the raid where the hounds shined, the first part was probably possible with loons as you said.

Personally I only use dragloon for air raids and havent been able to integrate hounds into that attack yet, drags are tanky enough so i need extra loons to take out defences rather than a hound from what ive seen.

In upper Masters and Champs it's quite common to get attacked by hounds. The biggest loss I have suffered in an air attack was to 3 hounds, 25 balloons and 30 minions (all maxed). I've used the same army comp myself a few times since to do low elixir attacks and it works well. Although it doesn't target storages as effectively as a Gowipe it's a lot cheaper and can reliably 2 star a maxed base.

As a Th9 i use 8 dragons, 12 loons with 6 loons in cc for war as well. I wouldn't alter that strat for a hound. I'll wait till th10 and high lvl heroes/freeze.

Come on Supercell its been ages now that this failed unit has been gathering dust. Thankfully I didn't waste any gems on getting mine but I did use a lot of resources to get it to lv2 as quick as possible. And its pointless. Pretty telling that in approximately 20 wars we've done since it came out, I've seen enemy clans use them twice against us, once in attack and once in cc. Three guys in our clan (me included) tried them out for a few attacks and gave up. For 30 spaces they just don't do enough to justify their role. They're supposed to be a golem of the sky, but in a gowipe attack the golems go in first and almost always they are the last thing to fall at the end. By contrast a lava hound does well if it lasts ten seconds.

If it was 20 spaces instead of 30 it would be useful. Or if air defence did reduced damage on it. Even just nerfing its suicidal speed to match a little closer to the ballon/drag behind it would help. But as it is, it adds nothing that other units don't do better for less cost/build time.

Oh, and if anyone wants to reply with "I use them all the time and they're awesome and get me extra stars", please post some videos showing a lava hound make a positive difference to an attack, because I've not seen one yet. I'm not saying they have no use, I'm saying there are better options for the space they need.

1. Lava Hounds are beast for the job they were designed to do. Needless to say, if you deploy them cluelessly, they'd get killed in vain.
2. Go visit global's top player's bases, see how many of them use Lavaloonion attack. That should be a good indicator on how good this thing is.

I use it all the time, to annoy my clan mates, as the highest ranked in war in my clan, my clan mates don't like me using them as they only 2 stars, but I use them just to annoy and they're sort of fun

Yep hogs wallbreakers and jump spells are also good with maxed heroes
