plus the last level is 200k which is the max that the de storage can hold... so if she started at 42.5 for level 2 you would never be able to max her...

Just wait til you use her in a raid. Her lvl 1 cost is about the most logical thing about her.

@OP: When the heroes first came out, lvl 2 AQ actually costed 45K DE. I'm guessing this was back when heroes only went up to 30, and when the update with lvl 40 heroes came out, they reduced it.

To us long time hero grinders, mixed feelings when that happened a while ago. Bitterness at wasting an extra 100k dark in a matter of weeks, joy at it being cheaper.
Dont worry yourself about it, the big initial cost is out the way, just enjoy the cheaper upgrade levels, cheer yourself up that it could be 20k a pop worse.
