It's called obstacles. They are your daily reward of gems. And if you miss a day those obstacles spawned will still be there the next.
Yesh I'd like a spinner or some type of daily bonus....It'd be good for players and SEE, players get a reason to log on every day and SEE gets players on it's game every day, which will probably result in more gems bought.
To add to it I think the rewards should be based on player exp lvl, reason being that a lvl 5 player has no use for a few hundred DE and a lvl 120 couldn't care less about 50k gold.
I don't think it should be TH lvl based, since I'd imagine a good chunk of SEE's profit comes from rushed THs that need gems to get the loot required to do troop/defense upgrades. Making it TH based would keep some of those rushed players from buying gems, which wouldn't make SEE happy. Besides, it would encourage TH rushing.
Possible prizes : 10k -> 200k gold & elix, 100 -> 3000 DE, 10-100 gems, 1 -> 3 boosted drills, 1 -> 5 boosted collectors, 1 -> 3 boosted barracks, and spell factory boost. Of course, you would only win one a day and the amount gained would be based off something (preferably lvl as said above) as well as chance; for example there would be 2 gem prizes possible, one for 30 gems and a "jackpot" of 100 if you were lvl 100 - 150.

I think what OP's getting at is being able to get more than just gems. You can argue that you can get anything with gems, but with an average of 2 gems an obstacle and 3 obstacles a day you're looking at 6 gems a day, and 65 a week (including gem box). That really isn't all that much, and to counter the improvement you would be forced to use the reward in one way, such as only getting dark elixir when you wanted some gold.

It's either your stupid wheel for low amounts of elixir or gems from obstacles and achievements. I choose the gems.
This is a great idea to keep players coming back daily. Different rewards could include 100k gold/ elixir (rare) or less, randome DE amounts up to 1K and gems up to 50 (very rare). Would be nice
Really don't think it is required.
There is plenty enough motivation to log in daily to clear your mines/pumps/drills so raiders cannot clean you out; and you are awarded new trees everyday for gems.
The random nature of such prize wheels also annoy me, one reason why I just can't stand farm games. So much chance involved. *shudder*
