Over the days, ever since the Lava Hound was released to the public, I have been busy testing different strategies with the Lava Hound. The best raid I have settled is what most people call Lavoonian. As a Town Hall 9, I use:
2 Lava Hounds
18 Balloons
35 Minions
15 Minions in Clan Castle
I have almost perfected this raid strategy. It has led Trap (my brother) to Champions, without fail. It is a certain 50% (Almost every time) and with heroes, easy to pull of the two star. (That is attacking in champions). This raiding strategy has been proven effective a bushel of times, and I have just pulled of 6 stars once again in my war. This is the only raiding strategy I use in wars, and out of 20 wars, I have only lost 1 attack.
