basically, if your enemy has way lower trophies than you, he or she will win more trophies for their win. but if they had more than you, they would get less, while you would get more if you were to attack someone way above you.
i used to do this each time i went below the 200 zone to farm. when i wanted to go back up, all i had to do was go through a couple easy revenges. i got about 56 trophies per battle. is it possible to get more? because that was the highest i ever saw.
This guy had 1644 trophies, and i had about 1900. Huge difference to revenge for -54 trophies?
Ok, then here is great trophy farming idea.
You just collecting people who attacked you at 2000+ trophies range. You dropping to 1500 and waiting till they go to 2200-2400 range and gathering resources. After they got there with 200-300k each resources you attacking them. BANG! +60 trophies per revenge and crapload of resources.
Hilarious isn't it?
That's how I revenge people who value trophies - drop to 500 cups, then hit the revenge button

As for your trophy farming idea, good luck waiting for them to reach 2000-2500 trophies. Also, if you think you can defeat them, feel free to launch an attack on a village that is hell bent on protecting trophies.
Please don't assume everyone's base is as easy to raid as yours.
Lvl 6 giants, barbs, and archers.. Queen and king.. Then he has lvl 3 wbs..lol. Would love to see his villa
a lvl 39 guy attacked me and *tried* to 2 star my base (my TH is undefended) by spreading archers around and going for 50%.
so of course when i needed to raise cups after a farming session he was my first choice. lo and behold, he had full storages as an added bonus. even with the loot penalty, i think i made about 50 times the loot he took. plus i 3-starred his base with my farming troops and took 42 trophies.
just helping to enforce proper trophy ranges.
