Multiple players can have the same username.

But yeah, this is always a tough thing to manage. I've had a few occasions where an elder has went rogue and kicked a few members. Just make sure that your most valued members are elders to minimize casualties in this case.

I'm the one who promoted him as elder on the belief that he will invite his game center friends.
