I'm TH8 and going up against my first ever TH9 in clan war, any help is greatly appreciated. I currently have:
Lvl 5 Barbarians
Lvl 5 Archers
Lvl 5 Giants
Lvl 4 Wallbombers
lvl 4 Wizards
Lvl 3 Balloons
Lvl 3 Dragons
Lvl 3 Hog Riders
Lvl 2 Healers
Lvl 1 PEKKA
Lvl 5 Rage Spells
Lvl 4 Healing Spells
Lvl 4 Lightning Spells

That's really a TH8 base with an extra Air Defense and wiz tower (no xbows or aq). The way the base is designed Hogs will destroy the base. Draw the cc troops out. Put your BK to attack his BK. When releasing hogs just make sure there's no giant bombs between where you drop your hogs and the interior of the base. There is not room for double gombs in the interior so your hogs will be fine with heal spells. If you know the locations of the gbombs on the exterior, trigger those first with a barb or two. May want to have a couple wizards to clean up the base after the hogs destroy defenses on one side.

If I'm using mostly hogs, how do I take out the CC troops? I have only used all hogs once and their CC wizards annihilated my hogs :-(

The most important thing when hogging is luring out the CC troops, pulling them off to one side and killing them first. Make sure you get ALL of the troops in the cc out. I'm not sure what the range on the cc is. If it's far out enough, you can use a giant to enter the cc range to lure the troops out then use a barb to pull the troops to one side. In this particular case it may be best to drop all the hogs from one spot to keep them together to maximize your heals.Originally Posted by TheGoonDockSaint

also it's good practice to release 1 hog first to clear any gbombs between your release point and the nearest defensive structure.

10 barb 10 archers to kill cc.
If you release all hogs at once then Giant Bomb will destroy it... no wonder why you fail....
