I've been playing clash for 6 or 7 months roughly, and am TH8. There is no doubt in my mind that over my time, getting loot has got significantly harder. There were way more 'dead' bases three or four months ago. Using lix for walls has had an impact and so has the fourth mortar. When those changes came in my initial reaction was it was good (for me from a base building and defender perspective), and of course it is. But from an attackers perspective it has made getting three stars harder, and getting smaller amounts of loot harder. It has got to the point where I am struggling to have builders busy because I simply cannot afford the upgrades. I've been up and down the leagues and they are all much of a muchness. Lower down I can get three stars relatively easily but am lucky to break even or make a profit. Higher up, around c3/2 it becomes a struggle to get one star. The fourth mortar has had a bigger impact than many think. It means there are fewer 'easy' collector raids as collectors can now easily be covered by at least one mortar, often two.
I'm still playing, still mostly enjoying, but the game has become much more of a grind. There seems to be a fair amount of people here who say 'loot is easy' indeed one in this thread say you can easily make 5m. Maybe some can, but for the vast majority, this is not possible. No doubt some of these players will try to rubbish what I'm saying, and that's fine if you really do disagree. However, everything I have said is what I experience and to me that is fact not opinion.
I get that SC want to make money, but this game, in my opinion, is now right on the limit of keeping people (me) playing. I dont mind buying gems once in a while but if it becomes a necessity just to make progress, which it is close to being, I will move to something else.
