Builder Time Left 8 weeks : Lab Time Left 17 weeks
Im a TH8 and my village will have no builder time left in 8 weeks at max but the lab would be lagging behind terribly with 9 more weeks of upgrades remaining after max builder th8 which is more than 2 months worth. Right now im of the opinion that i just max as many elixir troop upgrades as possible and move to th9 because dark elixir is 4 times more production just by drill than th8.
What would you do?

Do you use valks? no you don't. That's like 4 weeks reduced already.
No need to upgrade the DE troops you don't use until TH9. Do minions, hogs if you use them and Golems if you have the DE

Well I have used only hogs that too only in wars a few times, valks and minions are made only to donate to low level players and make them happy.
8 weeks at max is for 95% maxed th8 builder ONLY except king which is at level 5....anything that needs a builder, walls, traps, barracks, mines, defence and whatever rest there is EXCEPT king.
as someone who went a little too early from th8 to 9 (im now maxed) i'd say do all your defensive upgrades and walls to lvl8 - you wont get time to do them at th9 until the end as I learnt.
I'd also max your pekkas, wallbreakers, spells and healers
The more you do at th8 the less you have to do at th9. Seems obvious, right?
Even though you don't have long left build-wise your walls could use some attention. And while working on those walls your lab can do its thing.
Suggest that you stay at TH8 at least 1~3 month
Currently i'm just like 1 month at th8

4 weeks? No.. it's a week and a half at most..
I suggest you just upgrade what you use. Upgrade all elixsir troops and hogs from the dark troops. Max walls and king and go. No need to wait for others troops you will have time in th9 when maxing walls to do all of this.

Thats my idea too...I hate the "zzzzz" sign over a builder hut. So yah, i will be maxing the walls in this 8 week periods as well.
Yep, 2 months is the max builder time left. Im not upgrading to th9 now lol
